you can't say golf movie without mentioning Caddyshack. I mean if we're talking about best golf movie ever, it's Caddyshack. If we're talking about worst golf movie ever, it's Caddyshack II. Bagger Vance over Caddyshack and Tin Cup. What a joke. I'd put Greatest Game Ever Played and Dead Solid Perfect over Bagger Vance too.

I've only seen bits and pieces of Caddyshack. Looked like it might be kind of funny.

Billy take the time to watch it. When you finish, one of two things will\should happen. One, you will rework the thread title or two, one of those 3 movies titles will be replaced with Caddy Shack. JMO.

Caddyshack
Happy Gilmore
Anything but tin cup. That movie wasn't that great. Everything seemed so fake & having a hack like Costner playing a good golfer made it more fake.

i'm with vfb on this.

Bagger Vance was good story but but it lacked in the golf realism.

a bit off topic, but Costner is probably the best actor when it comes to sports movies JMHO IMO kthnkxbai TIFWIT IIRC. i don't know if it's because i just personally like his work or what, but i'll watch his 3 baseball movies and Tin Cup anytime they're on TV.

Costner actually has a credible looking golf swing; much moreso than just about any golf movie I can think of. Tin Cup is completely goofy at the end . . . but his swing is decent.

It's kind of obscure, but if you want to see a really good golf movie, go find Dead Solid Perfect with Randy Quaid. I don't think it was even released in theaters. It was made for either Showtime or HBO I think.
