Bowden won multiple national championships and is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in history. I just find a bit odd that of all the coaches you can have chose you went with him. Bob Stoops, Steve Spurrier, Phil Fulmer, Mack Brown, and Lloyd Carr also had rosters loaded with NFL talent, yet managed to “only” win one national title each. Why? Bowden under achieved routinely. So does Kirby. Bama is his Miami. Equal or better talent and fails repeatedly.

Bowden won 2 national titles and had a really nice record against his biggest in-state rival (Spurrier). Kirby is clearly behind Bowden in that regard until he wins at least 2 titles.Few coaches loaded up with rosters with the talent level FSU had in the 90s year after year. This is where UGA sits. They quite possibly have the most talent in the country and yet still finds a way to lose to Bama repeatedly. He reminds me of Bowden. Recruit like crazy, then roll it out on the field and hope things work out.

You can argue that Bowden "should" have won more than 2 titles because he finished in the top 5 every single year from 1987 to 2000. You can also say that about every coach that has ever coached the game, except maybe Saban.
Bowden also had to build FSU from nothing.Bowden was 18 years in before he won his first. So I guess if Smart hasnt got one by then, hit me back up.
And no, you cant say every other coach should have won more titles that what they actually won. Not even close.
