3 Keys to the Game

I see things in the opposite light. The onlt reason they're ranked so high is because of their frontcourt.

Miles Plumlee- Senior, 4 star recruit.
Ryan Kelly- Junior, 5 Star McD's AA
Mason Plumlee- Junior, 4 star McD's AA.

Josh Hairston- Soph 4 star and Marshall Plumlee- Freshman 4/5 star McD's AA will be buried on the bench.

Duke is deep, talented and experienced in the front court. They're a perimeter oriented team year in and year out, but from the games I've watched so far this season, K is more than happy to dump the ball to Plumlee or Kelly in the post and let them score.

Got no problem with your analysis. I just disagree. I think if we keep the plumlee's off the glass, it will be a close game. If we don't, it won't be close. Just my opinion.

I havn't watched a game this year. I've heard mcbee is shooting better, but no mention of the play of cam this year. How's he looking?

So I'm guessing all the Duke blowout predictions are assuming we are as terrible as we were picked to be? But I've seen Duke and they aren't good enough to blow any decent team out unless they shoot lights out and the other team misses point blank shots.

1) Trae Golden must decisively win the matchup with Curry. Golden's the better player and must play like it.

2) Defend the 3 point line: Dawkins absolutely lit up MSU. We must use our length to make life difficult shooting on the perimeter. We have the personnel to make this happen.

3) Keep Duke off the offensive glass: this is another huge key. The plumlee's can rebound. Our 5 men have to rebound well. It's time for Hall to either step up or sit.

Agree 100%

I will add also that me HAVE to finish close to the basket. Points will be hard to get either way so we have to convert when we got close. Posting up and driving to the basket.

Along those same lines, good shot selection in the post will be especially important tonight.

You forgot 4) The officials. Even if we do the 3 things you listed flawlessly, the officials aren't going to let Tennessee spoil DUKE's perfect record in Maui. Anyone who has ever watched DUKE play, knows they get more BS calls than any team in the country.

Tomorrows game will be at 3 or 530 depending on a win or loss?

on a more serious note

Duke does not do anything particularly well

I expect both teams to turn the ball over a ton

McRae has to have a good game shooting the ball

We can't afford for Kenny to play poorly, if he is struggling just sit him for a Miller

People are going to find out who Trae Golden is tonight

Rebounding is what worries me more than anything. Say what you want about the Plumlees and Ryan Kelly, they're way bigger than anyone we have.

They may set the single game block record if we are going inside to Hall and Maymon. Maymon has played well, but he hasn't played against guys this tall that know how to use their height and know how to play.

Until Golden puts up against a team not named UNC Greensboro or LA Monroe, Seth Curry is the better player.

Golden looks great so far against bad competition. He might be a better player than Curry, but until he shows it against an actual team, not sure one should jump to that conclusion.

It'll be intresting to see how the team responds when Golden goes out

Krizewski didn't get to be where he is now without game-planning against the other team's best player. Without Golden's scoring, Tennessee is doomed. Living in NC as a kid, I learned to hate Duke about as much as I hate Alabama. It would be a tremendous upset although I don't think it will happen.
