#3 Oklahoma @ Kansas

It’s BS.

Anytime UT gets any kind of momentum tonight expect the flags/no-flags to happen circa 2019 and fully expect the Bammers to whitewash and roll their eyes on anybody calling it out.

Screw-job by the refs against Kansas. So sick of this crap in college football. Illinois had 2 TDs taken off the board by highly questionable calls against Penn State. It’s almost just blatant now.
I saw a fumble just like the one in our game that was ruled forward progress was stopped. The refs have completely changed how they rule that this year it seems and it’s ridiculous.

BIG XII refs should no longer care about OU and Whorns. Make them stay and suffer until the bitter end. Bowlsby should be all over this...in a hush-hush way.

Oh hell, anyone can win any given day. Kansas has always given OU fits. I remember when the Selmon brothers, Joe Washington and a team chock full of AA’s and crew got curb stomped by KU.

Here’s my opinion, please let me know if I am wrong:

The call against Tennessee past week was a bad call. The call allowing Oklahoma to “laterall” and get the first down was legal and a good call.

Amazing how 2 or 3 plays determined the game.

Not recovering fumble of OU first touchdown drive.

No call on holding on long run in 2nd TD drive.

Missed tackle in backfield on 4th and 3 and QB takes it to the house.

I don't know if it was a lateral as much as it was as in both cases a question of forward progress calls on the field . Both were never blown dead evidently but the Tennessee Call was evidently addressed and called after the play and the Ref huddle. The OK only addressed if it was forward lateral with no mention of the forward progress.

Lets face it the bottom line is about Conference Standings and College Playoffs and it carries over to the calls on the field. A Oklahoma loss and no College playoff participate for their Conference. simple a no call here gives them a chance.

I guess I don’t understand the difference between a lateral and a handoff (or if there is any). To me, the Oklahoma play was no different than a handoff. You could also call it a lateral if you want. In my opinion, there wasn’t a pass. It was an exchange from one player to another, which as I understand it, is always legal, as long as the ball is not passed forward.

I still believe that the call in the Tennessee game was BS. On that play, the tackle had not taken place yet, so you cannot call it a stoppage because of forward progress. Is there anything wrong in my analysis?

Somebody said lateral and the ref stated they reviewed to determine if it was a forward lateral. More like a Rugby grab and go. It was a handoff it was a running back with the QB taking it from him and advancing it for a first down. I had no problem with it look legit. What I had a problem with is that his forward progress was stopped short of the first down he was pushed badk another 2 to 3 yards and they did not rule his forward progress being stopped. I was the opposite call of the Tennessee Game with a lot more action in this game but it is conference Ref and the number 3 team was losing to a losing team and guess who the called or no call favored.
