Enough Said! This entire staff needs to go and NOW! First loss in history to MSU - and the Lady Vols are now in 9th place in the SEC...9th!!! Let that soak in for a while.

Hart - either Holly goes or time to rally the Alumni and get you out! Save this program!!!!

The AD is not going to be fired because he hasn't fired the women's bb coach.

Yeah they really suck eggs. I guess they couldn't go on winning forever. Its a Good thing I have never really been a huge womans basketball fan.

I don't like Warlick as a coach--but there are definite player issues on this team. I mean, last year's team was much better than this one--same staff. Lack of leadership, talent issues, and I get a sense that DeShields has not meshed at all with this team. Seems like she wants to be above it all instead of just going out and playing a solid basketball game and being a great teammate. Or maybe I'm wrong and she's just played bad basketball in 80 percent of our games. Whatever it is with her--attitude and bad play or just the bad play--DeShields seems a lot more problem than solution for the Vols.

All of these comments are correct and made by those that have knowledge of the game. Ever notice that every fricking time the LV's get a lead CHW makes a change to the line-up that disrupts the entire flow of the game.

As sad as it is the players aren't shutting the game down, it is the coaching staff. Fans it has all changed and coaches that understands the game can take ( no star ) players and win.

Be ready as there will be those that post to this thread and say we are not true LV fans , but the fact is they don't understand the game and the obvious. Lets see I have to be careful of how I post this " how do you get soda through a straw"....yea that's the extent of the coaching staff

I do not pay any attention to "Fans" who think they can decide who is a fan and who is not a fan. The roof is falling in but yet things are okay. Only a blind idiot cannot see the obvious. They can roll with Holly Dooley, that is their business, but it is obvious, the Holly Dooley Express is headed over the cliff of no return.

When they got the 11 or 12 pt lead in the 3rd quarter, it was because they pushed tempo - forced the defense out of half court defense. They passed the ball well and hit open jumpers. 4th quarter - insert Diamond Deshields, slow the tempo, turn the ball over and get schooled on rebounding.

Hey you failed to point out that State switched to a zone defense ......the LV's have been miserable against any kind of zone defense all year.By the way that is why the tempo slowed.Diamond Deshields was not the reason they llost this game.....this team can not cope with a zone defense.Anyone ( team )watching any game this year who does not use a zone against this team is a complete idiot.

I think if I was Holly I would be trying to find out how to play against a zone. It can be done Holly and neither she nor her staff have any clue how it is done 20 games into the season. So Holly needs to see if some coach on maybe the men's team coaches or well anyone who has any clue how it is done will help her with the game plan.
So many embarrassing quarters against the zone defense and here in game 20 we should be past that. We only need to score 8 points to win that game last night and there should be no way we can't do it. I am totally amazed how Holly choked away another huge lead with 10 minutes to play. If she wants to turn this season around enough to get to the NCAA she better be determining how to attack the zone because she hasn't been able to come up with a lineup or a game plan to get it done.

Pat Summitt once quoted her father who said "If you want to run in the Kentucky Derby you don't show up with a bunch of mules." Dave Hart needs to listen to those words of advice from Mr. Head (Pat's father) and get rid of this bunch of a$$es...

My high school coach in the 60's taught us different sets against all zones...including the matching ones.... You can screen/pick against a zone and we have yet to do so??? Has the game changed THAT much? Leaving your bigs on the base line surrounded by a collapsing zone is just silly. If a 6'6" cannot get the ball at the foul line in the middle of a zone... And here I am assuming she can make a foul shot. Why in the world would you have Basshere (spelling) under the goal when she has a good 10 ft shot? Everyone on this site knows the strengths of all the players. Yet the coaches do not try and put the players in positions to be successful. Which is exactly what coaching is about! Coaches teach players where the ball is supposed to go and where the players should move to...to be successful..... NOT HAPPENING HERE

When nothing was working in the 4th quarter, why not play Dunbar??? What do you have to loose? This team has 7 high school all-Americans, the National player of the year (Russell) the freshman player of the year (DeShields) and they can't win??? That's poor coaching. No adjustments being made and not one recruit committed for next year. Not one!!!

Yeah I watched most of it and a purely pathetic performance. I predicted the L the other day. I don't want to hear "Yeah, but they lost in overtime"; their performance was dismal. This is one of the all-time worst coached teams I've ever seen. Just think how bad it's going to be, can you say "cellar-dweller", when we don't have elite athletes. Please tell me what recruit would want to play for Holly????? No way this team makes the NCAA, wins the SEC, or the SEC tourney.

Chw apparently had no problem w the 4th quarter. She is so sad and just concerned that her girls are "hurting "! If you're tired of em hurting freaking coach them better so we can win!!!!!! That's how you can help!!

Makes me want to throw up. Pansies. First, you have to have a coach. Second, ....no need to go further.:cray:

If you're looking for laughter
While passing through K-town
Get tickets to a LV basketball game
See the famous Holly the clown

She will whistle and scratch
Hide her head like a roach
But don't waste your money
If you're expecting a coach

She will yell and wave
And jump up and down
She will embarrass the fans
Cause she's Holly the clown
Nice poem but I don't think we should be calling her a clown. She's just in it over her head.

What do you do with a player you can't motivate or get to "buy in" to the team concept, coach? Set her azz on the bench and let her watch every minute of every game. That does two things: (1) sends a message to the rest of the team that we are a team and (2) sends a message to that individual to help motivate her to want to play and "buy-in". Holly, really, is it that difficult?
Trust me, it's only going to get worse. Alum pay the bucks to have a professional coach search done so they can bring in a new coach and staff.

Holly is definitely in over her head! The chemistry in the first quarter was great (!), then here come Deshields and Cooper. The third quarter was awesome, then here comes Diamond again. Every time she comes in the game, the pace slows to a crawl and everyone stands around. All the momentum is gone! Either she is not recognizing this or Diamond has a contract for playing time.

We wait and press until the fourth quarter against Kentucky and almost came back. Why not earlier? When you have no half-court offense (especially against zone), pressing can start your offense and give you energy! Even my (not so great) high school coach did that!

My Mizzou team only scored 4 points in the third quarter of their game against LSU last night blowing most of what had been a 17-point halftime lead, so I can't be throwing stones. But at least, in her comments after the game, Coach Pingeton owned it and discussed the problems and possible solutions.

Until DeShields decides to start playing well, we will lose. Her stat line from last night
was pathetic, in keeping with her pathetic performances for most of the year.

Minutes played: 30
Points scored: 3, on 1 basket and 1 free throw. 1 for 4 shooting or the night = 25 percent
Rebounds: 0. Best athlete on the floor, a player who is a very good rebounder (when she wants to be) and 0 rebounds in 30 minutes.
Steals: 0
Assists: 1
Turnovers: 3

We were all expecting DD to be a big plus for this team and she's been a big negative. Perhaps in trying to reduce her negative play, she was almost a cipher last night. Fewer turnovers and missed shots, but no positive contribution, which from a player with her skills is, again, a negative. She is a big reason why this team is in the shape it is in.

In losses to ND, Ark, and UK these are Diamond's averages:

14.7 ppg
41.5% FG
5 rbs
1.3 assts
2.7 stls
6.3 tos

In comparison, Defensive Specialist's averages are:

2 ppg
13.9% FG
1 rb (0 rebounds in 2 games)
1.7 assts
.7 stls (0 stls in 2 games for the Defensive Specialist)
1 to

But yeah, it's Diamond's fault they lost.

Could not agree more with most of the statements already made about this coaching staff. This staff is way above thier heads. What can we do to start to let Dave Hart understand Holly is got to go, recruiting is is awful, coaching is average at best no accountability, effort is lacking. Please Dave end this embarrassing season. Start over.

I got numbers, too, Amb:

In our last four SEC losses, to florida, arkansas, kentucky and miss. state, DeShields has
shot 32 percent and averaged more than 6 turnovers against about 1 assist.

She was 6-21 against florida, with 7 turnovers
She was 5-15 against kentucky, with 8 turnovers
She was 6-16 against arky with 7 turnovers
She was 1-4 against miss. state with 3 turnovers. Those are bad numbers for anybody--the turnovers numbers are crazy bad. Maybe she was just overrated coming in, as, according to another thread, her numbers this year are pretty close to her numbers as a freshman, two years ago. She needs to play harder, get to the foul line more, and above all make better decisions. Stop trying to make cute passes that aren't there, and start taking better shots and squaring up when you shoot. She seems to just decide that she's going to shoot, whether it's good or not, whether she's balanced and squared up to the basket or not. We can't win with her playing like she has, that is for sure. She could be, and should be, the leader of this team--but she most decidedly is not. She needs to drop the princess act and start playing harder and tougher. She ought to watch some film on Diana Taurasi.

I don't remember the last time I watched a girls game. I didn't even know they played four quarters.

I don't think they do. I think people are splitting the 20 minute halfs into 4 10 minute quarters for discussion purposes. 3 points in the last 10 minutes really sux.
