Lady Vols just keep doing what you have been doing. Elizabeth Williams (Boston) vs Izzy Harrison (Key)...hmmm. We should be fine.

Next Holly ? ROFL i couldn't even say that with a straight face . o_O

I've said it long time ago that college coaches are not suppose to be coaching national team. I am happy for Dawn but still stand on what I said. It's not her fault that the committee doesn't understand that it's an advantage for a college coach to coach National team while coaching a college team.

1976: Billy Jean Moore (Cal-State Fullerton) (Silver)
1980: Sue Gunter (Stephen F. Austin State) (DNC - USA Boycott)
1984: Pat Head Summitt (Tennessee)
1988: Kay Yow (North Carolina State)
1992: Theresa Grentz (Rutgers) (Bronze)
1996: Tara VanDerveer (Stanford)
2000: Nell Fortner (Purdue)
2004: Van Chancellor (WNBA Houston Comets)
2008: Anne Donovan (WNBA Seattle Storm)

2012: Geno Auriemma (Connecticut)
2016: Geno Auriemma (Connecticut)
2020: Dawn Staley (South Carolina)

College coaches have coached 10 out of 12 USA Olympic teams. Only Fortner chose to actually resign her college post to dedicate her full time to the USA team. Perhaps you should send the committee a note on this.....

I think its Stanford

A few weeks ago , SC had zero! But had the final six recruits listing them as interested in SC! They got four of the six and an obvious #1 class! Wow ... And Geno ? Ha, Ha, I love it!

2019-20 will see our #1 class (all grown up ) and they will be Juniors. If we are going to beat SC???? We better do it now and next year before these freshmen grow up! However, there is another decent class for us and another top guard in this class.... We need to continue the recruiting trend in 2020 to remain competitive. JMO

LMAO... insinuating he doesn't coach. Watching his teams is watching exactly what results from really good coaching. You can despise him (I sure do) but do coaches circles around almost all his colleagues. It's not like he signs studs and then just rolls the ball out on the floor and says "go win girls."

It still bears playing out to the end, but IMO this class may be all around a better one for Staley and USC than the Aja Wilson 2014 class, which culminated in 3 SEC Regular-season titles, 4 SECT titles, 2 Final Fours and 1 NC. That 2014 class had two ESPNW top 10 overall rated players in Wilson and Jatari White, plus two other 5* that were in the #30-#35 overall ratings. This class has three top 10 overall players, plus the #13 overall prospect as well.

But the issue with the 2014 class, is it had Wilson who was a 5-strong 4, and White who was a 4-strong 5, so their skill-sets sort of overlapped each other. Plus add in Coates - a strong 5 who was a high 4*, but ended up playing like a definite 5* already on the team and destined to play 3 years with Wilson and White, and it kind of squeezed opportunities away from White, and she transferred to Texas.

Staley has been talking about experimenting with a "positionless" scheme that will utilize the versatility of each player, so no one gets pigeon-holed into roles, but even if this wasn't used, the 2019 class seems designed to work together better: 5-9 PG, 6-0 W, 6-3 F, 6-4 P, where the F (Amihere) is an athletic, cat-quick, face the basket big with looong wingspan, that will play just outside the lane like Wilson loved, while the P (Boston) is a more physical, low-block post with strengths at low-post scoring, rebounding, shot-blocking and general post defense.

It is more of a Wilson-Coates type tandem, and there really won't be quite the inside glut that was there when WIlson and White came to USC (Jennings will be gone, Herbert-Harrigan - more suited for Amihere's position - will be a senior, and Williams - the truer post - will be a junior). There will be great depth at the G positions for this class: Harris will be a senior, Cooper (if she chooses to return) a Sr., Jackson will be a Jr., and Henderson will be a So. Staley is already looking at making Henderson and Cooke a PG-CG tandem for 3 years.

So there's a less obvious chance for roster chafing and reasons for player transfers, but then again it seems kids transfer out of programs for the slightest reasons these days, so who knows....

You all do realize SC is in our division! We will have to deal with them a whole lot. Staley has become maybe the best recruiter in the country. I was not aware they were doing that well.I just don't keep up I guess!!!
