3 things Coach Jones can do to win me (and the fanbase) over

1. First order of business, get Sal Sunseri out of town forever.

2. If Bray is gone, bring in a mobile, Zach Collaros type QB. Seems to be working extremely well for UGA, SC, and TA&M.

3. Retain Graham and Pittman

These 3 things happen I'm all on board.

Wrong. The only thing he can do is win consistently.

I'll be shocked if that happens.

Hart just set us back 3 more years.

Jones already planning talks to Tee Martin. Jones knows what he needs to do. People need to get behind this guy.

Find someone like Dan LeFevour to run your offense. Winning starts immediately at that moment.

13 FL QB Asiantii Woulard

That is a guy Jones needs to get in touch with. He has been sitting back waiting to see if UT brought in a coach who would like a dual threat type QB. Worth a ship IMO.

I think Butch Jones is probably a good football coach. The reason he is an underwhelming hire is that his name will not attract recruits. He won't be able to win unless he can recruit. Therefore, my answer is a top 10 recruiting class.

Here's my 3 things:

1) Hire a staff of proven SEC coaches and recruiters. I'd start with names like Zook, Tee and Trooper. Of course keep Graham, Pittman and Hinshaw.

2) Bring in a top recruiting class this year. I'd be happy with top 15 realistically.

3) Win

1. Agree with those names except Trooper Taylor. Keep this guy as far away from this program as possible. I don't care how good a recruiter he is. He got sidelined at Auburn this year because of violations. We do not need that. What else does he bring? Chest bumps and towel waving don't win games.

2. Agree.

3. Absolutely.

--Realize what conference he is in now and leave that High School gimic offense behind

--Hire Competent Coordinators/ assistants that can recruitat an SEC level and know what they're doing

--Run an SEC pro style offense (wildcat everyonce in a while)

--Run an SEC style defense STOP THE RUN

--Embrace the former players and the traditions of the past

--Make us forget the past few years.

Doubt it. Maybe top 30 class. Top 10 is a dream -- wet dream. Hope that I am wrong.

The juniors who can will leave for the draft. They've had three losing years here, and they're unlikely to stick around for this.

We will have transfers. A lot of players were waiting to see who we'd get, and this is a letdown. They're making fun of UT and tweeting Butch Who? and saying they'll coach themselves. There's little respect for this program or this hire from players, fans or the media.

Recruiting will likely take a hit. The program is a mess. We'll see what can be salvaged, but recruits with better offers may decide to play it safe and go elsewhere.

Tee Martin has a better job at SC. He loves L.A. If we had brought in Team Orange, he might have wanted to be part of that, but why make a lateral move for this? Unless he's named OC, it's a step down.

Patience is gone, hope is dwindling, fans are fed up, the program is the laughingstock of college football and the brand has been pissed on by an inept and unpopular AD. It's going to be a tough sell.

Pretty much what everyone else has said:

Staff

Recruit (result of staff)

Win

3 things he would have to do to win me over. Beat Bama, Florida, and Georgia.

I can and will warm up to the idea of Butch Jones. But I am sick about the decision. It's nothing to do with Butch Jones. Its everything to do with the fact that Dave Hart set expectations so high, actually gave us a list of criteria, and then didn't deliver any where close to what he promised. Home Run hire? No. SEC Experience? No. Head Coaching Experience? Yes. Even Hart said, we are at a cross road. He could have pulled out all stops and have done whatever it takes to say yes on all 3 questions. But instead, decided to compromise. That is not the winning road - that is the road of desparation. Butch Jones could very well be a diamond in the rought. However, the process stinks and it leaves me wondering just how bad our administration is and even more importantly, how awful our financial situation must be for this to be the outcome. I have high hopes for Butch Jones and wish him well. But I'm not very optimistic with regard to the future of our University as a whole. We are in financial trouble and have serious leadership issues. Football should probably be the least of our worries.

To everyone in here saying "win" and "just win" and "beat our rivals", etc.

Don't get me wrong you're extremely witty. Those are probably the wittiest posts I've ever seen.

But I was implying "things he can do before the season starts". Maybe I could have been a little clearer.......

Some of you people need to get over yourselves.

Stop living in the past and thinking we are still a top 10 program in the nation. Why don't you let coach Jones coach a game before you ask him to resign and that he will never win you over?

I'm not thrilled with how this whole process was handled either, but some of you people are so ridiculous.

We act as if we are Texas or Alabama.

This! You read my mind. His record, coaching and motivational ability seem above average but anyone who's ever been successful at UT knows that recruiting is the lifeblood of the program. The coaches named in #1 can get it done here.

He went 4-8 in his first year in Cincy. Don't expect any immediate greatness.

1. Fully implement the VFL program. Have an "open door" policy to our beloved former players.

2. Hire Phil Fulmer as recruiting coordinator.

3. Recruit his butt off and land a respectable class.

4. Coach players up so that we can see noticeable improvement over the season.

5. Win games.

6. Give Saban a post-game wedgie at midfield next October even if we lose the game.
