I would think Lanier was the backup PG even if you landed “Bulgarian Chocolate”.

Maybe so, but I’d rather see Lanier get his minutes at a wing/2 spot. Maximize CL’s court time with ZZ. Don’t burden him with advancing the ball into the front court. Get BB lots of opportunities to prepare for life without ZZ next year.

Lanier played a lot of PG at UNF, he should be capable of handling 6-7mpg at the 1 rather than trying to bring along BB. Also a good way to get what is likely your best players the most minutes possible.

Are you thinking BB redshirts?
Possibly, but if not I see a Phillips/Carr type role. Probably appear in less than half the games and less than 5mpg, again barring injury. I don’t see him having a consistent rotational role on this years team.

Mashack had that role his freshman year too. He did appear in over half the games though, but averaged less than 5mpg.

Aidoo as well, going back further also guys like Gaines. As much as we want, and I’m as guilty as anyone, kids redshirting and also sticking around is becoming very rare. Much more likely is the paths of those guys along with Carr, Phillips & Estrella last year…~15 games appeared in and around 75-100 minutes total. Which if we stick to the current roster that would probably be about right for what to expect from Boswell.

I have no idea what role Coach thinks of him to prepare for. Could be as primarily ZZ,s backup, could not. Really looking forward to him tipping his hand early. Handle proficiency driven I would think.

Bishop Boswell says he, simply, is doing his job as the Myers Park point guard. “I’ve always kind of been able to see the court pretty well,” Boswell said. “It doesn’t happen unless these guys get open and...are ready for it.”

...Myers Park earned wins against Garner (66-38) and Millbrook (80-46) for the chance at another inaugural championship per the leadership of the 6-foot-4 Boswell and his 6-foot-6 backcourt mate Sir Mohammed. The sizeable guards have signed with Tennessee and Notre Dame, respectively. Boswell had 15 and 14 points...in the Mustangs’ first two invitational games. The ambidextrous Boswell passed for four and six assists, respectively.

Bishop Boswell, Sir Mohammed have Myers Park pursuing first John Wall tourney title
at least he's not 'amphibious'
