I don't mean to be that guy but don't we have to make the tournament beofre we have a chance

Yeah, that would help. Right now we're not even on the bubble. Have to win the next 2 to start getting any consideration, but still probably have to make SEC Tourney finals to get consideration.

That's why the odds are so high it's a huge risk because we aren't even in.

As someone on here said already, If they get in the tourney those odds will cut in half.

It's interesting that we are the only team at 400:1. Aside from us it goes from quite a few teams at 300:1 to a bunch at 500:1

Yeah that is what I thought was interesting. Our odds are better than some teams already picked to get an at large bid.

I never said I thought they were going to win or get into the tourney. Just interesting to see what Vegas thinks of the team relative to the rest of the field.

Don’t take everything so literally or so seriously, son. It’s not uncommon to exaggerate for the sake of making a point. Whatever the exact odds on the Giants were, no one expected them to even make the post-season, much less take home the big prize. The point is that the BasketVols’ prospects are analogous.

The vols are 400:1
The giants were 8:1 pre season to win the Super Bowl and were only 20:1 after their mid season slump.

Not really comparable, son.

You're overlooking the operative word exaggerate. For a betting man, those are long odds in either case.

As my old college mentor used to say, "A posse ad esse non valet consequentia."

20:1 isn't horrible odds for a nfl team to make the Super Bowl.

As I said they were pre season 8:1, most people expected them to make the playoffs. Nobody expected the vols to make the NCAA, the comparison is WAY off.

We will most likely have to face KY on Sat (if we make it that far in the tournament).
I'd say 1000:1.

You're much too antagonistic. Can't go into the Bball forum without seeing one of your arguments.

Don't make dumb comparisons and I won't say anything.

I'm sorry but when someone says the vols at 400:1 to win the championship is comparable to the giants being 20:1 to win the super bowl I'm gonna voice my opinion.

I wasn't rude or antagonistic, all I said was that the 2 were nowhere close. Sorry if that got your panties in a wad, if it did you need thicker skin.

You don't like it, then don't read it.

This may be a stupid question...but can a player bet money? Let's say Stokes is like I'm going to put this team on my back and go off and beast mode the whole tourny. Could he make a bet?

Vituperative harangues over trivial matters are a sign of immaturity. Some fellows just never outgrow their childish ways. Psychosis is treatable but not always curable.

Never bet your house unless you have another one to move to.We need to get in the dance to win it and the out of town verdict is still out
