my suspicion is he has a tenuous hold on the locker room and is desperate for any motivation to distract them from thinking its all about themI don’t get how he gets away with it either. They were SLIGHT underdogs on the road against the number 1 team. Not unreasonable. Props to him for convincing his team people think they suck. He’s obviously good at it.
No. I said earlier that was the only way Texas could win was by Georgia giving them a short field.
In the end, it’s the right call to wave off the PI, and that matters. It was a bad call to throw the flag, and it robbed an important interception. The refs eventually got to the right call.I have never seen an official come back and say oops our bad, we are going to change our mind on that non-reviewable call 5 minutes after the fact. Every other time the fans just have to deal with getting hosed.
Simply incredible. Is consistency really that big of an ask with officiating?
I agree it was the right call, so they should do that in every game. When they do it on one call in one game it begs a lot of uneasy questions from consistency, competence, and even bias all the to conspiratorial. It’s just a bad look.In the end, it’s the right call to wave off the PI, and that matters. It was a bad call to throw the flag, and it robbed an important interception. But the process stinks, and that matters, too. Talk it over before you announce the call. And whatever you do, don’t tell every student section in America that chucking stuff on the field is how to get calls reversed.
I don’t think refs are crooked. But competence is hard to come by.
