apples and oranges I know , but if you estrapulate that 13-11 out , his winning would be just slightly better than Grudens

Fulmer 152-52 if we can not get a big name hire and drop into that $3-2 mil. range I would rather have Fulmer back.

With due respect, there aren't a lot of really great coaches that we could legitimately expect to leave their current job to come up to the Hill. We have reached out to several top coaches, with a few being "in play" for the gig. Gundy, Fisher, and even Strong and Golden are rumored to be interested and are considered to be good coaches. (See here and this weird list here and perhaps even the odd list here.) Fedora isn't on the list, but he certainly looks like a winner. Who else do you want us to go after? Mack Brown? Bill Snyder? Chip Kelly? Saban, Miles, Meyer, Muschamp, et cetera just ain't coming. Peterson will not move anywhere that doesn't have adequate medical care for his son (but Arky has a medical school with a cancer research center - hint, hint). Patterson, Dantonio, Fitzgerald, and a host of others apparently do not want to move.

Come on, my Big Orange brothers and sisters! Let's all just calm down and let's see how it plays out. Regardless, we all know that it darn sure will be a significant upgrade from this year, regardless of who shows up to wear the headset.

We hope lol. I wasn't for letting Fulmer go, but I listened when everyone said watch this is going to be better. I listened when Dools came in and everyone said wait give him a chance he will be alright. It just seems be be getting worse and worse. Next year we could have zero wins.

Can I just get Fulmer back.

And my point isn't that it has to be Peterson or Patterson, just go get a BIG name with that $5 million. Get SOMEBODY that will NOT fail.

Not commenting on the candidates but if you want the most bang for your buck then you need to look at at least a 5-year contract so for Petersen who according to my data earns a salary of $1.7m (not including any bonuses or other incentives that I'm not aware of), 5 years would be $8.5m vs say we have a rough budget of $25m for the same time frame. Gives a lot of room for negotiation if money is the only issue.

Maybe I'm crazy but I'd offer Saban in the ballpark of 10 per and give him around 7 for assistants. He doesn't really have any loyalty to anybody. He is kinda like a mercenary. On top of that, the success he brings pays for his massive salary. I'd say screw it and go for it.

That's Texas' philosphy for Saban, when Mack leaves

I agree with the op. Major hit if they get an underwhelming hire now that the fanbase knows the money is available.

Does anyone know if Peterson has been approached?Patterson?
