5 Teams That Didn't Meet Expectations for 2016

Wasn't there talk of a possible NC run at some point for tennessee. You guys didn't have a horrid season by most programs standards but for the standards that Ut should have and the preseason talk then I'd say ut deserved on the list.

Yes, we absolutely deserve to be on the list. Given what was accomplished vs what was expected, we're easily top 5 imo.

Probably

6. UCLA
7. Georgia
8. Texas
9. FSU

Honestly, why would Georgia be on the list? Who had high expectations for them? New hc, new staff, true frosh qb......honest question, who had really high expectations? Weren't they picked to finish 3rd in a weak SECe?

Which is why they weren't on my first list. He asked about those 4 teams and I gave my opinion.

Georgia was ranked 18 preseason and finished unranked at 7-5. They probably underachieved by about a game.

They had a team built to win and flushed with talent. They fired Richt because they thought 10 wins was a floor.

They thought wrong.

On here there was talk of a NC run. Colin Cowherd I think put us in his "shocking" preseason playoff. Nationally I'm not sure very many, if any picked us to win the conference. Everyone picked us to win the East and 10 games, so we underachieved. Just not to the level many believe.

I'm not saying I'm happy with our season, but sometimes a little perspective is needed. UCLA, Oregon, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, and Michigan State were ranked right up there near us and didn't make bowls. Texas won 5 games again. Many thought TCU would challenge OU for Big 12.

We are nowhere near top 5 nationally in disappointing seasons. We underachieved by 2 games.

I'm on your side. They didn't belong at all, your initial list was fine.

They had a new head coach and staff and no qb. And their roster was not the typical "flush with talent" roster of past Georgia teams. Bottom line is, they were preseason #18 and finished 7-5....they didn't miss expectations by much, which were fairly low to begin with.

They were insanely disappointing. They fired Richt for 7-5. Don't eat their crap. They went for an upgrade and failed miserably. Returned their RB's, defense and all but one OL and WR. They were talented beyond measure and took a massive dump.

They retained all of that "flushed" talent and remained the same...hmmm. Sounds as if a talent infusion would have been the order of the day. :dunno:

What are you talking about? Remained the same? :dunno:

2015 = 10-3 (5-3)
2016 = 7-5 (4-4)

They had 10+ win talent and another strong recruiting class including the #1 QB and both returning RB's and QB's from a 10 win season.

They regressed and could even finish 3 games worse than last year. That is a monumental fail.
