5 years from now...

On the same note, UGA fans had Mark Richt on the hotseat. But, after seeing how UT fell into the crapper after Fulmer left, they reconsidered. It is and will continue to pay dividends at UGA. Good show Bulldog fans!

And lets say dooley is let go at end of season. We get one of your coaching picks. Doesn't work out. Meanwhile dooleys picked up by another program in four years is winning championships. We're still in the toilet. How'd that work for ya?

You got me.... I spit out coffee trying not to choke from laughing when I read that....This I realized you meant winning at a Div 2 school.

That would be crazy. It's like trying to fathom the size of the universe, which is impossible to do.

Lets say we keep Dooley next year without Hunter, Bray, Patterson, Rivera, and a few linemen. How do you think that will turn out? Better than this year? If your answer is no, then we need to make a change this year.

Through alternate timelines it might not be impossible, but you'd probably also find a few with Bill Belichick coaching the State of Franklin Mountaineers to their seventh consecutive international collegiate rugby title. And Nick Saban as the team's water boy.

"Sank them". I will admit when Dooley took office, we were the Titanic of sank ships. The bad thing is that here we still are, two miles at the bottom of the SEC ocean, only three years later

Sorry but you are out of your mind if you don't think the program and especially the roster isn't light years ahead of where it was when Dooley took over. As I said, he may not be a game day coach. Stinks for him if he's not. But he DOES know how to re-build a program's roster, discipline, integrity, etc. The guy knows talent and how to develop players. He has good program discipline. Kind of the opposite problems from Fulmer and Kiffin. Both of them were better gameday coaches.

This is a team that should have beaten UF and MSU. They had 3 good chances to beat a much more talented team (UGA) in Athens. The program is ready to break out... I just don't know if Dooley's gameday skills are good enough to get them there. The talent is there after a long drought.

A ride on the coaching carousel was ALWAYS a possibility when Fulmer was unable to right the ship. You NEVER know if the next guy will be better than the last guy regardless of his resume or "name".

Weis looked like an absolute homerun hire to follow Willingham. It turned into a disaster.

Could there have been a better hire to replace Carr than Rodriguez? Crushing failure.

Miami in spite of having the richest home recruiting turf in the country... has yet to find the magic again. Shannon looked like a slam dunk after Coker...

I'll still be thinking what I think while he is here: I wish he would do well because I want all the coaches to succeed.

Future Peach: I wish Dooley could have made it at UT but it didn't happen. Next coach.

I was never sold on any of those hires. Neither Weis nor Shannon had any head coaching experience. Who on earth would think them a "slam dunK"?

Rodriguez was a bit more interesting. He looked like a good coach, but I was never sold that his style of offense would translate well to a major conference (which is why I was kind of happy when it looked like Alabama had hired him initially).

once dools is long gone... the Doolaiders and yes even the people that were "on the fence" about him will look back and think... "WTF was I thinking?!?!" Once you're removed from the emotion of the situation and the overwhelming desire to "not be wrong" about him has diminished greatly, you'll find yourself in a weird place of wondering, again, "WTF was I thinking?!?!?"

This feeling will be compounding exponentially if we make a great hire and get back to winning football games.

You’re not alone, other fan bases that have experienced this same situation:

  • UK Bball fans, they were as divided on the to fire or not to fire Gillispie... enter Calipari... Gillispaiders look foolish now.
  • Bama fans, many wanted to keep Shula Jr. based on 2005 success and his lineage, enter Saban... Shulaiders look foolish now.
  • ND fans, many thought the Weis buy out was too much... and pleaded Weis just needed more time... enter Brian Kelly... Weisanators look foolish now.
:peace2::salute::peace2:

5 years? Looks like it only took 3 weeks... Lot of people changing their tune about Dooley.
