Sure do miss listening to Mike and Mike on the drive in to work. Keyshawn, J-Will and Max pale in comparison. Not sure. I just recall listening to Mike and Mike one morning several years ago and Golic was on this hour plus long tirade about scores being run up in not only college but the NFL as well. It was good radio !!!
You serious? Thought everybody knew of the Cheeseburger mecca of In-N-Out Burger on the left coast. You must dine on them before you die. When I get off the plane in Vegas, my first stop is always In & Out for their mighty tasty Double Double. Place only sells Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers and Double Doubles, and is SLAMMED from the moment the door opens till it closes. Size of a Burger King.
Never had either but Whataburger seems like a natural in Knoxville with their Orange and White signature colors.

Never had a Whataburger - from your description it sounds like Freddy's here in Indiana.Whataburgers pretty good, but the MEAT is thin. Order a double (Pricey) to get it right. Plus, It IS close to Tennessee Orange. Mainly in S.Alabama S.Miss and Florida Areas. Three trips a Month will do it for you; although the double order line usually goes around the Building X2. Putting Burger King Out wherever they open a new Whataburger.
There's still a Blue Circle over in the Tri-Cities area.
It's obviously not related to the chain any longer but the folks that run it do things pretty close to how the old Blue Circle stands used to do things...it's pretty dang good.
Up here in the great North land, our go to slider burger joint is White Castle. They're decent as far as sliders go and on par with Krystal in my opinion.
As far as general, 'fast' food type good burger chains go though - my vote is 5 guys all day.
Will you be impressed if we score 50 on our three cupcakes?
I only get upset when we get blown out by the teams we are supposed to be competing with.
Heresy!!!There's still a Blue Circle over in the Tri-Cities area.

I don't recall ever complaining about a win.Yeah right. I am sure you were all smiles when we barely beat UK last year. Bet you were happy with the OM, Pitt and Perdue games.
Let’s say this year we only beat SC by 7. You gonna be cool with that? Or are you gonna complain? I think the latter. Will I be impressed with scoring 50+ points against 3 cupcakes? Yes. Why? Because that shows continued progress of our offense.
What happens if we only score 20 or 30 against the cupcakes? Does that show progress? No it doesn’t. You would be complaining about it and rightfully so.

The only way you show progress is in the win-loss column.

We used to have "Scotties". You could sit at the counter and watch the " chef" throw out frozen square patties on the grill. Close to a Krystal burger. Another store in Tullahoma was the Jiffy Dip that sold really good sliders. One day a friend and I had a contest and I won by eating twenty-two Jiffy burgers. I was about eleven years old.I'm dating myself here, but Blue Circle burger back in the 60s and 70s, was a staple on team football trips. A dozen of those "slider' style burgers and a milkshake for about $2.00... dang those were the good ole days.
Whataburger has a FANTASTIC hatch green chilie burger.Never had a Whataburger - from your description it sounds like Freddy's here in Indiana.
They do a nice 'steak style' burger (basically start with a burger patty and smash it flat as you cook it so the edges get a little crispier), but as you mention have to order the double to get a decent amount of meatiness.
