Disagree
Sounds of Silence
Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm
We Built This City

However, I cannot disagree with the wit and humor associated with all of these songs. Thanks Vader.

I own 4 of 'em.

#21 Spin Doctors 'Two Princes. I actually like that disc but I have not had it in the rotation for some time now.

#26 The Doors 'The End'. When 'The Doors' movie came out in the 80s everyone I knew bought the double Best Of CD.

#35 REM 'Shiny Happy People'. Yes, a complete sell out song when it came out but haven't they "sold out" in such a bigger way since then. I probably have a complete REM discography and I actually like this song in large part because I like Kate Pierson's voice.

#48 The Beatles 'Obi La Bi Do' or whatever it's called. Yeah, this is a really annoying one but they snuck it into the Anthology, which I figured I'd buy since I didn't own a single Bealtes album before it came out.

No mention of "Puttin on the Ritz", "Relax", "99 Red Balloons", or anything by Wham.

I used to cringe whenever I heard that John Anderson song "Swingin." Actually tapping one song as worst ever will take some thought though.

Huey Lewis and the News shouldn't even be on that list, much less in the top 10. :focus:

"Dropkick me Jesus through the Goalposts of Life" has to be the alltime worst. As a matter of fact I was scrubbed in and assisting a neurosurgeon clip a brain aneurysm on a patient in the Methodist hospital in Memphis years ago and the song on the radio was this tune and the surgeon was in a happy mood and singing along until the aneurysm prematurely ruptured and brain started rising out of the opening in the patient's cranium. He went from singing to cussing a blue streak. To his credit he was able to blunt dissect down to the bleeding vessel and get it clipped.

(And by the way HatVol forget about getting your grubby little litigating hands on this case as the statute of limitations have ran out.) :biggrin2:

I'll take 3 exceptions:

Breakfast at Tiffany's - Damn catchy and reminds me of college

Your Body Is a Wonderland - Certainly not Mayer at his best guitar-virtuosity, but smooth, sexy, and works wonders if you can play and sing

Superman (Five for Fighting) - Great song, except for the universal radio-overplay

I'll have to think on additions to the list. Funny stuff.

EDIT: OK, didn't take long. I'll add the entire Metallica "S&M" album.

Oh c'mon, I thought that was interesting at the very least.

Interesting, yes. But still horrible. Kind of sounds like a jackhammer-operator listening to classical on his iPod. I'm just not sure where the Masters of Metal were going with this "project." Wherever it was, it should be outlawed as strongly as the Nazi war crime experiments.

"Daddy Don't Walk So Fast," 'Alone Again, Naturally," "Blind Man In The Bleachers," and the Don Johnson classic "Heartbeat." Those are terrible songs.

What about the Bruce Willis cover of "Respect Yourself"?
Horrible, but not as bad as David Soul's "Don't Give Up On Us" or Michael Damian's cover of "Rock On.'

I haven't heard any of David Hassellhoff's alleged "music", but I figured some of that would be on the list.

I think this is a list of the 50 worst songs in American history. Hasselhoff would be a major contributor to the German version of this list.

I know Eddie Murphy made the list, but what was that horrific song he did with Michael Jackson singing in the background?
