You know this or speculating? Both of them seem to be pretty humble, down-to-earth guys to me.
I also think
I think the coaches have set a high bar for Von, so he has to find his "next level" of play.
Unbelievable how Jashon has immediately excelled...this is turning into Butch's best NSD flip to date (extra credit for it being Vandy)....I'm pulling for Weisman to get redshirted to open up future opportunities and options on the line...I could see Dylan as a future replacement for Crowder.
Context clues.
Also, back in the spring Azzani was talking about being careful about how he approaches Pearson as he didn't want Pearson to get ahead of himself or something to that effect.
We can only look at coaches interviews and tangible things like their position on the depth chart and this "black stripe" thing to grouse how the coaches feel.
The coaches have taken off the black stripe of the guys who are busting their @ss in practice. A guy who is busting his @ss doesn't fall down the depth chart if he had the spring that Malone had.
Again.
You don't know these guys. Neither do I.
The coaches do.
And a black stripe and 3rd Team reps tell me the coaches are probably trying to motivate Malone. That's it.
Coaches do not decide when a black stripe comes off, their player mentor does.
Neither of those guys have an ego. Malone has a fairly shy demeanor and is very humble when he speaks. Pearson worked at McDonald's just a few years ago and got his opportunity out of nowhere. He has expressed how thankful and blessed he is numerous times.
I don't think I'd put him ahead of anybody in the starting 5. He's definitely the best of the second group though.Robertson's emergence as a probable contributor is very encouraging but given that we only have 12 scholarship guys on the OL (including Pair, who's shown nothing in his career so far), I can't see our redshirting anyone other than Raulerson unless injuries come into play. Wiesman is probably one of our 5 best linemen when healthy and we'll definitely need him this fall.
