We won’t lose to the gators for the foreseeable future. Heup has us rolling and Napier has some serious roster problems in Gainesville. He’s out after three years and then a new coach will take time to get that program back in order, if they get the right coach. If they miss again, it’ll be a 10 year streak for Heup. He’s gonna own the next decade against the gators.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are seeing the first glimpse of a golden era at UT. Heup is gonna make us think of the late 90’s as ‘nice’ run compared to what’s coming. Let go of the BVS. Embrace these next years.

I'm a Vol-loving man, yes, I am. But whoa there fellow. This is the SEC. You can get your rear end kicked at any given time, even by an inferior team. Now, Florida is too talent-rich a state to expect them to be our or anybody else's redheaded stepchild for long if at all. I do think games will be more even if CJH can keep a quality staff together, and adjust his game planning as opponents learn to scheme him defensively. And you can bet teams will begin copying his style, already are, actually. So, whoa there, bub, we will still have our times of woe. CJH isn't invincible, much as we wish he was. This is the SEC.

The SEC where we just finished 10-2 in Heup’s 2nd year after having to overhaul a depleted roster? The times of woe have passed. UF is about to be everybody’s red headed stepchild. They just finished 6-7 with their ‘Heisman-worthy’ qb. Now they are replacing him with a Wisconsin transfer. We’re gonna rename the swamp ‘Neyland South’ soon.

I sincerely hope you are right. I'd cherish it if you prove to be right. I just think I know better. Until then, GO VOLS!

We need to win 10 + every year especially with portal and nil

The portal will have a bigger influence, going forward, than the past where it might take 4 - 5 years. It's going to make it very difficult to predict the future with any consistency. Winning can come more quickly now.

We will need good QB play next year to have anything close to this season. If Milton struggles in the bowl game we will have to figure something out or it may be a long season.
I agree we will need good QB play to have a good season, but when have we ever not needed good QB play to have a good season.

If Milton struggles or if he lights it up in the Bowl Game, It will not be an indication of what will happen next year and there is no need to react to it.

Personally I think Milton is going to be great, he has had a year to sit behind and room with one of the best QBs in our history.

This will rub off and we will be fine.

Our Expectations and doubts are warranted but should not be determined on the mindset of one game.

Any issues, problems or successes will be addressed until the season starts in 8.5 months. Trust the Coaches to fix or refine.

That is correct that good QB play is always needed. I mention it because it is a concern based on what we have seen from Milton to this point.
There will be reaction to his performance in the bowl game whether it is good or bad. And there will be endless speculation from the bowl game till start of the season as there always is.
IMO, if Milton looks bad in the bowl game it will be an indicator that after two years in this system and being coached by this staff that he is still not ready. That is plenty of reason for concern at that position for next season

Milton, Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Pat Mahomes would struggle. Clemson's defense, even with missing pieces, is nothing to turn up one's nose at. The doubters can doubt, but until shown otherwise, I think Milton will come through despite the challenges of the Clemson orange crush. It's so weird, and cognitively dysfunctional, that so-called Vols fans won't even give the man the benefit of doubt for this game. With fans like this, we don't ned opposing fans, the haters, gives us a built-in rival base. I'd strong suggest, if I can't demand, that they obtain their Clemson jerseys and other gear, practice the Clemson fight songs and chants, and sat among the Clemson fans.

Fans having a concern about a game or how a player will perform based on previous poor performance is normal and reasonable. Milton hasn’t looked good in a game so far at TN. If you want to ignore that then that is your choice.
You aren’t in a position to demand anything. You’re not a better fan because you have blinders on. No one is less of a fan if they voice concern about how the team will play.

Coaching does matter. It matterEd at Tennessee and it happens at a lot of schools. Look at LSU, Alabama, Georgia, etc. The winning combination is great talent and good coaching. Good coaching helps get good talent.

If Hyp can get us at least 9-10 wins every yr, with the 12 team playoff coming, I think TN can get in most every year with the normal schedule played. Good days ahead for sure. Bama, GA still going to be an uphill battle since they finish 1-2 in recruiting.

Trying to put words into my mouth, I see. What I'm saying about all this Milton hate, is you haters:

You ain't nothin' but a hound dog
Cryin' all the time
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog
Cryin' all the time
Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit
And you ain't no friend of mine

Other than two starts and injury, we don't have a decent sampling of Milton except in Mop up duty which as been pretty damn good.

The focus on him is what it is and it is a matter of if he can step up to the tasks without the weapons that Hooker had being Hyatt & Tillman. Should we judge him on 1 game, No.

Let's see if the one thing we have not been able to see in him from last year to today is Rhythm at the QB position.

I watched Hooker in the Pittsburgh game from this year and it took him awhile to find it but that game proved to be a building block. HH had moments in that game that we all would have questioned his starting. The first three possessions to be exact.

He found it and then it lulled in the 3rd quarter to return in the 4th.

This is a growth game for Milton so give him that moment.

There is nobody sitting on the bench at the moment to replace him.

You're talking sense. We have people here who seem to neither have nor want it.

Beat me to it. I was about to post the same points. I sincerely doubt this bowl game will define who we are next year. I think JM will be just fine too. And our receivers corp should be in good hands as well. I think the schedule will affect next years record as much as anything. We go to Florida and Alabama. That alone will be a challenge.
