Other than two starts and injury, we don't have a decent sampling of Milton except in Mop up duty which as been pretty damn good.
The focus on him is what it is and it is a matter of if he can step up to the tasks without the weapons that Hooker had being Hyatt & Tillman. Should we judge him on 1 game, No.
Let's see if the one thing we have not been able to see in him from last year to today is Rhythm at the QB position.
I watched Hooker in the Pittsburgh game from this year and it took him awhile to find it but that game proved to be a building block. HH had moments in that game that we all would have questioned his starting. The first three possessions to be exact.
He found it and then it lulled in the 3rd quarter to return in the 4th.
This is a growth game for Milton so give him that moment.
There is nobody sitting on the bench at the moment to replace him.
I agree for the most part.
Really bad football last year when had some chances to play.
Mop up duty in blowouts don’t really tell anything as there is no pressure.
He didn’t look very sharp in the Vandy game and the passing game was really watered down to throws in the flat and deep throws which could indicate a lack of trust to make a lot of throws over the middle in traffic.
I don’t think he should be judged solely on the bowl game. If he plays ok but not great then maybe he can continue to improve. If he really struggles with accuracy, decision making, etc and it’s pretty bad then I think we may have to look at other options or we will struggle next year until Nico or Jackson are ready
