In a thriller, #6 Tennessee won its first road game against a top-10 team since 2008 with a 73-72 victory at #10 Kentucky on Thursday.

Clutch free throw shooting and a gritty win for the Ladies. I thought the tv announcers were Mildcat homers.

We share the same sentiments. I wished they would keep Carolyn Peck and Dee Kantner as faraway from this program as possible.

Outside of game situations (including postgame quotes), he has always struck me as a respectful guy, pro-women's sports, with a good sense of humor. He doesn't come close to Geno territory unless he starts cheating in recruiting.

This was a tough game against a very determined defense. I'm impressed with the Lady Vols' hanging in there and finding the win in this situation!

the lead announcer is good and /very/ knowledgeable about basketball. He points out all the lame charging calls that SEC officials make. Because he knows what he's talking about, he is candid: When somebody on either teams makes a really bad decision or takes a really bad shot, he will point it out. Let's not start the old 'the announcers' don't like us' stuff again. It's lame.

Otherwise, great win--hope it is a confidence builder. Take a look at the post-game locker shots on UTSports if you haven't already--team was excited.

I will defer to your judgment of the man since I have never met him. I do fill, however, that on court, he may be one of the whiniest coaches I have ever observed.

Agreed - if off the court/game. We stayed at the KY team hotel one year at the SEC. Shannon and Kyra were coaching, so we spent time with the KY team amd CMM. He was really nice; that is why I got so angry over his words after the Tournament last year. I was very disappointed in his behavior (and still haven't gotten over it:no:)

Not to mention his little publicized behavior when Elzy chose to return to Tennessee.

There is material there if you look for it.

If you complain about this win you are just a chronic complainer. This was a ball game that the ladies could have easily lost. I am very proud of the Lady Vols.

Doesn't this win break the Lv's on the road losing steak against top ten teams?-- i.e., the big talking point about the ND game.

It was a really good game where the LVs handled the pressure fairly well and gave it back to KY just about as well.
