Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. My dad had dementia and for a good portion of the tine he was not lucid. But a couple nights before he passed i was standing alone with him in ICU and holding his hand. I told him dad i hope you know how much i love you and look up to you and what a great dad you are. He said i love you to son. Your a great son. It was the last time he said i love you. But i will never forget it. He had polio all his life. Now i know he is running and walking with the best of them forever. Im not looking forward to Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Vol Fans i love you all from the bottom of my heart.

Wanted to post this in the football thread because my dad had been a long time Vols football fan all his life. Yesterday morning at 6 am he lost his battle and gained his heavenly wings. 75 years is a long life. And he watched every Saturday. Say a prayer for our family. Vol Nation is strong. We lost a good one. God Bless
Sorry to hear that buddy.

Prayers for you and your family as you go through the loss of your father. I pray that He gives your family strength as you face the days ahead without him. I can't phathom facing death or the loss of a loved one if it wasn't for my belief in God and and an eternal perfect home in heaven where there will be no more pain.

I have lost a couple of friends who have now made a seat for your dad to watch Tennessee football games from great seats.Losing your dad is too hard for a boy,at any age.Knowing he'll be amongst friends and family will make it easier eventually.

My dads gone too. He was a Virginia Tech fan. Oddly, the last VT game he watched Hendon Hooker was the VT QB against KY. That’s one of the reasons I loved HH so much. I thought of my dad often watching him play.

Seeing the affects on my mom after 54 years of marriage is freaking hard. Service is tomorrow and she is already so depressed she just wants her space. And i get it. I became a widow 22 months ago. But im also a mommas boy and its killing me watching her go through the stages of greif.
