UCONN looks far and away better than everyone else, though they aren't unbeatable.

The thing about Connecticut when I have seen them play is that they rarely (if ever) devolve at shot clock's end into "going to have to just wing it" mode. They usually appear to be moving with a sense of urgency and purpose, and most of their plays end with a decent shot attempt -- as designed.

agreed, I love watching them play. There's always player movement and screening in order to manufacture a good look. Wish we did that more

To be fair, Notre Dame was leading UConn by 11 in the fourth and UConn didn’t take its final lead until 3:54 in the fourth quarter.

In Baylor’s loss at UCLA, they were without their head coach due to family reasons, in addition to the absence of their second-leading scorer Lauren Cox due to health reasons.

Forgot about that! thanks

everyone after UCONN looks about the same until out of the top ten. Notre Dame doesn't look that great, USC relies on Wilson a ton, Louisville relies on Durr a ton, Baylor has played a fairly weak schedule and lost handily to UCLA. State looks more balanced, and so could be a more dangerous team than some would admit, though I think McCowan's numbers will fade against tougher opposition. Though we beat Texas, I think they still have all the pieces to reach the final four, and I would not like to play them again in the tourney.

Did you see the notre dame game vs uconn? Just wondering. Uconn was manhandled by Notre Dame for 3.4 quarters and then refs made a slew of bad calls. If notre dame looks beatable than certainly uconn does as well. If that game had been at a neutral site, or god forbid, in South Bend...Notre Dame would easily be ranked number one.

Which is why you must look at all of the games played by the teams you are comparing. UConn and Notre Dame's SOS are currently @ 1 & 2 with both teams playing a minimum of 8 teams in the top 50. They certainly look about how they looked from 2011 - 2014 pretty much even.

But if you think they won because of fouls I think you should rewatch the 4th quarter. Notre Dame lost their composure. That's about all that happened. The 1st foul wasn't even called in that quarter until UConn had already gotten to within 5 and the foul was called on Westbeld trying to defend Stevens in the paint. Stevens hitting those 2 free throws got the game to 65-68. From there another foul wasn't even called until after UConn had the lead and it was a rebounding non-shooting foul on Shepard (btw that was her 1st foul call of the game & by that point she had played 33 minutes).

The wheels started to fall off for Notre Dame before they started getting called for fouls. They were taking long 3s missing and UConn was rebounding them. On the other end UConn was getting O boards and scoring. The Irish were even missing layups... and ND players usually don't do that. Again, like I said from what I could see they lost their composure. They lost because they only scored 9 points in the 4th. Tell me the last time you saw someone win a close game where they missed 10 STRAIGHT shots against a worthy opponent in the final 4 minutes of the game? They just didn't close out the game period.

My motto... you can't blame the refs when you lose if you don't plan on thanking them in the press conferences when you win, you can't have it both ways.

Yes, I watched. UCONN looked rattled in the first half, then came back strong. Notre Dame has the potential to be as good as UCONN, but they’ve struggled against lesser teams. UCONN just looks all around better and offensively dominant. Like I said, though, not unbeatable.

Fouls weren't being called on UCONN was what I saw, constant over the backs, shoves on rebounds, hacks. Please don't ask me to watch UCONN win a game again...i don't reserve that!
