A friend of mine’s son played under Elko and Cutcliffe at Duke. He said Elko was way better and you could see the progress in a short time at Duke. Elko will be tough at A&M.I hope so. I am skeptical about Mike Elko as a SEC coach. Every SEC coach won somewhere else before getting hired to coach in our conference. What makes him special? His players don’t look any tougher than they were last year.
Too many sports personalities claiming every new coach is going to turn it around. Few really turn anything around, but when they do, everyone with a show can arrogantly claim “I called it!”
I think so too, and his passing game came down to a human level eventually. He had a hot streak but there's luck involved in that. He threw that one touchdown pass where 4 defenders physically had a play on the ball and they all just whiffed (I don't remember ever seeing so many). It was a bad decision but an accurate throw. You have to attribute at least a little to luck. No, he looks like Nico when Nico is allowed to run the football.
It clearly displayed what a running QB can do for an offense and to a defense. LSU players were bumping into each other.I think so too, and his passing game came down to a human level eventually. True. I should rephrase my post. It’s very crowded with 6-1 teams all over the top 15. It has been interesting though to see some of the big jumps some teams have made in the rankings week to week wrt jumping teams that didn’t lose. I also want to see what they do with IU this week. For A&M to jump into the top 10, they will have to leap-frog Notre Dame which is the team that beat them. They will also have to leap-frog two undefeated teams, BYU and Indiana.
Going to be interesting to see how those that vote in the polls handle this. All that is for certain is that LSU will drop out, which will allow either all teams to move up one and land LSU one spot below A&M and one spot above Alabama.
Elko is a very good coach, who gets the most out of kids. I know a couple of guys on the Duke staff who love Coach Cut, and they even thought ElkoA friend of mine’s son played under Elko and Cutcliffe at Duke.
