In talking about Ffrench being here this weekend, Fong said "and there could be others, like we said..don't be surprised if Eric Winters is a guy who could be there..."

Little bit later: "And there could be some bigtime guys...some guys who are committed elsewhere (my note: Campbell???)...some other top targets...maybe Eric Winters makes it there...

Ones to watch, who are also being reported by 247 as possible but not yet confirmed (similar to but IMO stronger than “have expressed in being in town this weekend”) are Gibson, Johnson and Campbell. Two 5-stars on top of the 4 already confirmed (counting GMac) and a borderline one in Campbell.

I imagine everyone involved is trying to keep Campbell and to a much lesser extent Johnson quiet.

Campbell is obvious because he’s a Clemson commit and we all know how they feel about commitments taking visits elsewhere. But VQ has been talking about it being a possibility for 3 weeks now and it hasn’t slowed down. Would be a huge sign for us if it’s coming to Knoxville that he chooses to effectively decommit. He was here for the UTSA game last season.

VQ reported Johnson was likely if not locked in coming for an OV June 21 despite his Bama commitment. Then Anna Adams reported yesterday that he was no longer taking his 6/14 FSU OV and would only OV UCF 5/31 and then Bama 6/7. Callahan has also pushed back on that being locked in but neither have flatly said it won’t happen. Should he show up this weekend one would think we’ve got a great shot at locking down an OV and would have some real momentum.

Gibson would obviously be big because he’s a stud and we have clear momentum coming off his recent visit here and Adams now reporting that we’re right at the top with UGA (the favorite) to flip him from USC. What’s interesting is that she said she expected an OV in June to get scheduled but this would seemingly be on top of that.

1) He's not really considering staying instate, which is of course is the biggest hurdle for a kid from AL

2) He's been here already at least four times since June 2022, with a pair of visits in both 2022 and 2023, including last season's against Texas A&M. SO this will be at least his 5th visit and the OV his 6th

3) Like Ross, for whatever reason despite the measurables and the ranking, Smith isn't being prioritized by the likes of OSU or UGA (although UGA is definitely recruiting him at least to some degree, just like Ross). Instead, along with UT and UGA it's Ole Miss (who Tom Loy has said is an early favorite, so one would think they're prepared to pay big, but come on); South Carolina (they got CBs from Fong and Simmons back in April - the Cocks seem to go all-in NIL-wise for one guy a year and this could be the guy, otherwise why tf would they be in contention at all); Florida (please); and FSU (IMO they're a real threat but they're only getting a mid-week OV)

We've got a TON to sell to a bigtime EDGE guy with Pearce being touted as a possible 1:1 pick and obviously Garner/Ek development reputation. Getting yet another, and the last, UV before his OVs start is massive.

Smith seemed like a done deal to Bama before Saban retired. Seems like that blew the door open on his recruitment.

Seems like 865Live went well. We’re in for all these high profile guys and those recruitments drag out until summer at least so the two HUGE OV weekends (June 14th and June 21st) are going to be MASSIVE and should paint a lot clearer picture of what the class will look like practically
