This exactly...I said all through the off season and still hold to it - this is an 8-4 or 9-3 team.

Now, did I expect one of those losses to be Arkansas? Yes and No. I figured the three would be UGA, Bama, and a team we were going to be favored. I honestly thought that would be OU or Florida.

As a fan base, we need to wake up and realize there is still a lot to.play for this year, especially with both UGA and Bama already having a loss as well.

Same here including the record and teams we would lose to.

It’s the timing of the loss as expectations can change throughout a season. We beat Oklahoma so a two loss season was a the floor. Now we’re back to three loss season. I have no problem w fans changing expectations with a win against Sooners.

True, but when we don't meet the new expectations and instead meet the old ones, we can't (or shouldn't)claim the sky is falling and everyone needs either benched or fired.

I had us 8-4 losses to Oklahoma Florida Bama Georgia. Sub in Arkansas for Oklahoma and I think everything else will be correct

We are probably a decent team with upside to be great. Right now I’m trying to figure out how we can beat UF. Arkansas is a better team than UF so we should win but then we have to be great to get past Bama and UGA. Both are beatable but not if we play like we did yesterday.

Best case we simply didn’t take them seriously, worst case that’s our offense against SEC talent.

Decent take, but still reeks of Pollyanna…. This was a bad loss….. one that shouldn’t have happened…. Just like FL last year

Didn't say it wasn't a bad loss....it just doesn't signal the end of the season, as some have suggested

Think we are exactly where most expected to start the year. It’s just painful to see this defensive go to waste on the worst offense Heupel has ever fielded. Knew the line would be a problem this year. It’s the gradual regression and lack of true player development that I find most concerning. The fact we had to raid the portal to cobble this pathetic oline together all while Heupel has recruited 14- 4 star or better bluechip linemen. Not one has been developed into a starter? Yet Elarbee is still your oline coach?!?

I think we go 10-2 with a loss at Georgia in November.

I had us losing to Arkansas because we always have a tough time in Fayetteville,

Exactly.

The rational pick, and most popular pick on this board preseason was 9-3. There were also just as many folks who thought we were looking at 8-4 as there were 10-2. Literally none of the CFB coaches or talking heads had us winning the SEC this season, nor being as good as UGA, Texas, and in many cases Bama/OM. That was reality a month ago, before we had injuries at both Tackle spots on the Oline folks.

Our Tackles are beat up. Thats a serious problem if we can't get them healthy and playing their best. Neither looked very good yesterday, Campbell hadn't finished a 1st half all season due to his knee...and Heard just missed about a month with his ankle injury and appears to still be hurt.

I didnt even come to the FF last night. I knew it would be a troll convention mixed with drunk fans who changed their expectations to playoffs or better saying extremely stupid crap. Like calling for firing coaches, insulting players etc. That bullcrap doesn't help anything. We have serious issues on the offensive line and opponents know it. We will see how much our staff can coach around it in the coming weeks.

There were mistakes by the coaches too. I get that. Both scheme/playcalling, and in game issues like snap penalties/clock management. They arent perfect. They had a bad game. We are damn lucky to have this staff, and we need to treat them that way. What they have done in the last 3 years is amazing. Some of the fans on this board are ridiculous and embarrassing.

Same here, but in all honesty, the game and post game yesterday was a bit of a perfect storm. From the cheap shot by our defender on the Arky qb to Nico's brain cramp and now the news about Omari's incident. Can't think of another single game that was more damaging to a season. At this point, I'm hoping the fans get behind the kids and staff and we can turn this thing around. Outside of UTEP and maybe MSU, we could lose any other game on the schedule. 8 wins might look good by the end of the season if the team goes off the rails. Gonna be a real challenge for this staff and the upper class leaders.

Yep. That was my prediction. And losing one or two we shouldn't and winning one or two I didn't expect seems to be par for the course for this staff. Put the torches away people and relax.
