Yeah, late time is a disadvantage imo. I planned on going.m but not sure, now. I wouldn’t get back home to Nashville until around 2am, and that’s with the hr time difference. W
Why is it a disadvantage? Why is it not just net neutral? If time zones play into this then we are looking for an excuse in the event of a lost. Losers do that, winners do not. Should be willing to play anybody at any time. It's all about the market share nationwide. As a winner, you should be willing to play anybody at anytime.

Not an excuse.

Athletes will tell you late games are more challenging, especially living in the eastern time zone.

Oh I agree and said as much. I should have bolded the part where I said "The tip time is just a TV market thing". The rest is just emphasizing how it's reasonable that no one here should feel any love for the NCAA.
Yea you should have bolded it. What's change with the Ncaa, nothing. We will not ever be a golden child with them or ESPN. So what, it will not diminish any teams abillity to win it all. The NCAA has been a piss poor organization since they found out that they could make money off of players. Do they have teacher's pets, sure they do. We need to get over it and call it like it is and quit using it as an excuse.

I know there are a lot more eyeballs in LA than in TN, but are there more eyeballs that care about UCLA, or even college hoops in general?
Considering LA’s population is 20 times that of Knoxville, UCLA is one of the winningest programs in history, and they have almost double the number of alumni than we do, I’d say yes.

The complaining here sounds just like the football lunatic fringe who complained about prime time ABC kickoffs all season.

I get why they do it, but this has been discussed the last few years. They always put the blue bloods in prime time spots for the second round games. I wasn’t too thrilled when our Duke game a couple of years ago was a late afternoon game after a late night game for round one. We know it’s the NCAA but don’t ever discuss what’s “good for the student athlete.”

We were planning an alumni watch party at a local brewery, but screw that. Half the people that would’ve attended are already going to be in bed. Why couldn’t it have been a 4 o’clock tip off?Everybody in LA work on Saturdays? Bunch of jackasses.

Give me a break. Angelinos are too busy being stuck in traffic, sipping kombucha, scrolling Instagram, and berating the homeless to care about basketball. The morans out there can’t be bothered to care about college sports.

Utter horseshit. It likely won’t start until 10pm which gives UCLA every advantage. The NCAA will always do whatever it can to put us in hole when it has the means
Such a nonsense response. You think 10 p.m. is late for a bunch of 20 year old college athletes???? Much rather play at 10 that at noon.

It’s not about young athletes playing late. It’s how the NCAA uses the time slots from one round to the next. St. John’s, Michigan, and Texas Tech played the 3 late games last night and turn around and play 3 of the 4 earliest games tomorrow. They always have one game play by itself early afternoon on Saturday, and that is St. John’s. I guess it is because of their NY fan base. Then, they cram 6 game starts in a 4 hour window. They put all 3 west teams in late night games even though they had early starts on Thursday. It’s not “all about the student athlete.” I’ve been discussing this for several years now.

DIdn't know you knew all 3.82 million of them personally. Maybe you should alert the TV network decision makers so they don't lose money.
