Highest ranked game of the day: Michael Penix and Indiana go into Columbus to face OSU. Today's winner not only grabs the top spot in the Big Ten East, but very likely secures a spot in the Big Ten Championship game.

Indiana looks for its first win against Ohio State since 1988 (in their last 27 meetings, OSU has gone 26-0-1). OSU, meanwhile, looks to remain on track for the CFP.

It's currently 7-0 Ohio State with 10:47 left in the first quarter.

Still think OSU pulls away and wins by at least 2 scores.
Yeah, IU can’t hang with them. It was fun while it lasted though. Maybe they’ll at least get to the half within a score but it’ll end up a blow out. They just don’t have the depth.

Indiana might have finally found its offense in the second half but those fumbles in first half might have allowed OSU to make it too big of a gap to close up once they scored to start the second half.

Either way, IU's 2nd TD of the quarter makes it 35-21 OSU with 4 min left in the 3rd.

4th and 10 at the OSU 16 and Penix hits his WR David Ellis for a 16 yard TD.

It's now 42-28 OSU with 12:26 left in the 4th quarter.

I give IU credit. They’re not giving up and they actually look like they are a pretty solid team. I thought they were a pretender but they very well might be the second best team in the Big 10.

Penix is lighting OSU up. Yet they are still getting drilled. Conversely Fields is struggling yet winning.

Unfortunately for them, they might have made too large a hole early on to fully recover and overtake them. Looking at the points they left on the board:

Had they kicked the FG in the 1st quarter on 4th and 2, it'd be an 4-point game with 10:26 left.

Had they not fumbled on 1st down at the OSU 13 with 3 minutes left in the first half, it would be an 4-point or tie game with 10:26 left. (Both of those and it's an 1-point deficit or a 3-point lead with 10:26 left in the game).

IU may not win, but I'm impressed. They don't give up.

They've done a pretty good job limiting their mistakes as much as they could this late into the game (the interception touchdown and the fumble before half are really the only big ones...and honestly one could make the argument the fumble before half at the OSU 13 was the bigger of the two: it not only took IU points of the board but gave OSU enough time to score another TD before half when they got the ball in the second half), In turn, they've also forced OSU into making a lot as well (OSU has thrown 3 INTs, missed a FG attempt, and the punting margin is pretty close to even).

Not to mention the pick 6. I thought it was over when that happened.

Penix 477 yards with 10 minutes to go against the #3 team in the country. That is about 4 games passing for JG. What is the story with Penix and UT? Was it Pruitt or Butch who did not want him?

Like I said in the other post (which probably hadn't loaded when you started to respond, no worries), yes, but one could really make an argument for the fumble at the OSU 13 before halftime being the bigger mistake of the two:

it took points off the board for IU before halftime (3-points almost guaranteed, possibly 7 since it happened right before the half), it gave OSU enough time to score another TD before half (28-7), and OSU got the ball back after halftime (which made it 35-7, after they scored to start the 3rd ).

You take that away, it's likely either 21-14 or 21-10 OSU at halftime, 28-14 or 21-10 OSU after the first drive of the second half, and Indiana would be looking at either a tie game or a 4-point deficit with 6:10 left in the game.

Super impressive hold there.
