Shot looks online most of the time but short. Of course he’s thrown up a couple real ugly ones too

I agree. Perhaps a view from the cheap seats for a game or two would help.

That, and about 10,000 practice shots in the gym.

We can't afford to outright bench him, unfortunately. Plus, his psyche is so fragile already that a total benching for a senior might completely break him. Bringing him in off the bench is a fair compromise and has worked for him in the past.

Move him to point. Couldn't be any worse that what we have there. James and Vescovi move to wings and let Bowden feed them. Would knock off about 10 TOs too.

He needs to be benched or told to quit shooting. Between the teams turnovers and his shooting the team is losing 20-30 possessions a game right now.

Apparently, you didn't see him trying to bring the ball up today. They immediately keyed on it and double-teamed him into trouble.

It is all mental. Many of the misses today were wide open. When he has to put the ball on the ground he has no clue what to do. Wonder why we aren’t running anymore of those elbow curls for him anymore?
He is pushing too hard. He now is the only starter from last year, a senor, and probably feels he needs to carry the team. This where coaching comes in. His coaches know him and by now should known how to address this.

Yeah. That’s a big problem is that everyone behind him is so bad defensively.
Plus, none of those guys are markedly better offensive threats, either. Unfortunately, JB is the beat of a handful not-great options, right now. We can try and manipulate his minutes and his mental state, but we cannot outright bench him for entire games. A 1-17 affair probably will work itself out from a shot selection standpoint.

I would agree with you, but he is not a good ball handler. To me, that is why he will not be in the nba

His handle just isn’t good. That’s the one thing he really needed to improve to take the next step in his progression. His dribbling almost seems worse than last year. Now he’s shooting bad and cannot create off his dribble to get into the lane or get to the basket for easier shots. I hate it for him but if you’re struggling with your shot you’ve got to find a way to get to the rim, and he just doesn’t have the dribbling skills to create those opportunities.

You could make a video on how not to break a press from us today. At one point every time we appeared to break it the next player in line immediately dribbled to the sideline into a trap.

Do they have any offensive sets ? All you see them doing is passing it around and using up the shot clock and sometimes dont even get a shot off. They need extra practices
