I was hoping Vandy would win. They played awful football and could have given a USC a key SEC loss.
Vandy got hosed on that call, but they would have still needed to put it in the endzone. They got lucky on the first TD and didn't sniff the endzone again all game long.
Both teams look very beatable - but for a first game and an SEC game on the road - what do you expect.
Shaw is their offense though.
And for the record Franklin is a great motivator, an okay recruiter and a terrible X's and O's coach - that gameplan was bad - some of those calls were head scratching - and yes, he calls the plays.
It only took SEC officiating 3 1/2 hours for the first major screw up of the year.
You act like Vandy did nothing good in the game.
They just lost to a top ten team by under 5 points. No matter how either team played, Vandy stayed in the game. Should have been a little more interesting if PI was called. No one is denying that if SC really played like they should that Vandy would have been crushed. But SC didn't and Vandy got some big plays to stay in the game.
USCe is not a top 10 team! If Vandy ever had a chance to win a big time SEC game it was last night. USC is at best an 8-4 team and that is if Shaw can stay healthy. Both teams looked terrible, Vandy will be luck to come out of next weeks game with a W.
