Some of the people in here just got on the bus, or have terrible memories. It's been a LONG time since we were this good, better sit back and enjoy.
Someone mentioned Hooker was just behind Manning as a QB and no other UT QB was at Hooker's level. Bobby Facking Scott was 21-3 as a starter. 1969 and 1970 seasons. If you're boomer, then you've seen great runs over some time yet have seen some bad periods. All the biggest traditional programs have done it over the last 50 years. The only one who can't seem to really ever rebound is NebraskaAnd for those of us who lived it, don’t take this for granted. Any program is one bad coaching hire away from mediocrity or worse. Let’s remember that lesson.
I always thought the Vols would be great during the 90s. Boy was I wrong.
I commend you for making note of the achievement.Hasn’t been done since 95-99 era. Not bad. For everyone that gets micro just remember that it’s been a long time since we fielded a team and program that was this relevant. Enjoy it, don’t knock it!
Haha, I like your post brother . I am almost 70 and been a VOL fan my entire life. I was only adding my opinion on Phil’s grade.I have seen the good , the bad and the ugly. I remember when Richt was hired to replace Donnan. I was there for the Hobb nail boot game. I would have taken Richt and 10 and 11 wins every year. His career mirrored Phil’s minus the natty ,Still not good enough for some. Georgia is fortunate Smart turned out like he did. He could have been their Dooley.A joke, man, it's a joke. Although in the beginning of the dark ages his name was thrown around here as a potential coach, but this was before your time here.
Bobby Scott. Rossville Ga.Someone mentioned Hooker was just behind Manning as a QB and no other UT QB was at Hooker's level. Bobby Facking Scott was 21-3 as a starter. 1969 and 1970 seasons. Edit: We're likely to win at least 10 games in Nico's first season

I know you said you were joking but the mentality of taking winning for granted is honestly the root of what led to the decade plus of misery. Mark Richt is in the college football hall of fame for good reason, he's better than 90% of the coaches who have walked the sidelines. If Heupel is Mark Richt 2.0 we can look forward to continued consistent winning, a few conference championships, multiple Top 10's and beating most of our rivals most years. His name is far from a curse. We win the Mark Richt award!
