It certainly does if it has limited whom you decide to procreate with for the past four thousand years.

The Arabic nomads were seen as pariahs. Even as Islam spread, segregation between the peoples remained. Was their an effort in certain epochs to force breed more Muslims? Yes. However, this was mostly confined to Spain and Southern Italy, as peoples from Northern Africa acquiesced more rapidly.

Islam is a race?

Mainly I just wanted an excuse to use that phrase, but Websters defines race as a class or kind of people unified by shared interests, habits or characteristics. So you could refer to any unified religion as a "race" of people.
