Bonnie Squires
When someone first coined the phrase; "liberalism is a mental desease," I thought it was funny but now I think of it more as being a sad and tragic reality, faintly scary even.

Bonnie's Beat
BONNIE SQUIRES is a communications and fundraising consultant who has had experience with universities, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit businesses. She was inducted into the Philadelphia Public Relations Hall of Fame in 2006, and her friend and classmate from Penn, Maury Povich, was the keynote speaker.
Squires writes a weekly opinion column in the MAIN LINE TIMES, the oldest and largest suburban weekly newspaper. She is a photojournalist as well for publications like the Philadelphia PUBLIC RECORD, the on-line JEWISH VOICE and LOS ANGELES JEWISH OBSERVER. Her op-eds also appear in THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, and other newspapers in other cities and states.
She is a long-time advocate for social causes like early childhood education, erasing the stigma of mental retardation and mental health, breast cancer research, and other worthwhile causes.
Politics has been a life-long passion of hers, and she has served for decades as a committee person, as well as having run for office.
For several years she hosted a live call-in talk show on radio station WHAT-AM, dedicated to building bridges between African Americans and Caucasians in order to find solutions to societys pressing problems.
She loves both her alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, and her adopted school, Temple University, where she worked as a top administrator for many years.
Squires and her husband live in an historically certified English Village home in Lower Merion Township.
She was recently inducted into Governor Ed Rendells BEST 50 WOMEN IN BUSINESS IN PENNSYLVANIA.
Bonnie Squires hosts the weekly WWDB-AM talk show, The Marketing of Business.
Squires was named to the Pennsylvania Early Learning Council by Governor Rendell. She hosts the weekly local television show, Bonnies Beat.
If I were in congress I'd introduce legislation making it a felony for anyone of such ilk to have any contact with small children, you can see on this board plenty of young posters who echo her inane, insane views on a daily basis.
Sometimes I feel like I'm playing the lead role in the movie 'Idiocracy', not only do these idiots repeatedly make stupid statements, they feel an overewhelming desire to be rude and offensive when one disagrees with their moronic attitudes. :loco:
Oh, its not that I dont admire President Obama, and in fact I think he has done a pretty good job, considering the severe challenges and the economic downturn.
Its just that, with even a slight chance of either Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann becoming the Republican candidate, I believe that Democrats should have a woman candidate who does not ride a motorcycle but is a serious candidate.
I have lots of political experience in addition to my Phi Beta Kappa key from the University of Pennsylvania.
Why, in 1999 I came within 56 votes of winning an election for Lower Merion commissioner, Ward 5. And through the decades, in addition to having spent over 40 years as a Democratic committeewoman, I ran a number of political campaigns.
Currently I am once again campaign manager for Walter I. Hofman, M.D., the incumbent Democratic Montgomery County coroner, the only board-certified forensic pathologist in the Commonwealth.
And you probably saw me campaigning for Hillary Clinton three years ago, when then-Sen. Connie Williams, Nancy Gordon and I set up a Hillary for President campaign headquarters right in Ardmore.
But when Hillary said she was throwing in the towel and that we should all support Obama, I had no trouble making the switch.
The world has changed so much, however, since I froze, even with boot-warmers and hand-warmers, in the icy Washington weather, during President Obamas remarkable Inauguration, a truly joyous occasion and memorable scene.
Perhaps America needs a gigantic bake sale,........
--------------------
So I am giving Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin fair warning watch out, girls, Bonnie Squires is on the move! I will probably make my official campaign announcement on July 14 at the Bastille Day celebration, sponsored by the Alliance Française de Philadelphie. I can parlez-vous français when I have to meet with whatever French official is still unindicted.
