You mean a realist?...Guilty. Lane has less than 1,500 for his career but is going to rush for over 1K with a new line? Not likely.

You don't use logic much, do you? You take one point that is slightly relevant to try and make your opinion look correct, but you leave out 5 more relevant points to the argument.

#1: Lane was 2nd string, previously, now he is 1st string
#2: Every report that has been published in 2014 has stated that Lane is a changed man, for the better
#3: Our QB's are not great so we will run the ball a lot
#4: Lane has averaged >5 yds per carry in his career
#5: Our new line is smaller and much more athletic, which compliments Butch's spread run first system. Keep in mind that K****n recruited all of last year's o-linemen to pass block first in a Pro-style offense.

Also, after reading some of the other replies to BB85's initial post, much of the anger is that he is using phrases like "not likely" and "hard to believe," which are obviously a little exaggerated against our beloved Vols. Battered-wife syndrome rears it's ugly head again.:peace2:

huh? its not believed to be overly serious. Even if he was healthy they were going to be extremely cautious with him. He has another 3 weeks until we play.

Guy is always injured. He takes a while o heal too. That means no practice and will probably miss a game or two. Won't be in top form no matter how you look at it. I'm planning on him not being his best at least. So I'm just wondering who's next to fill the roll.

And before you guys start I know the difference between role and roll. I must hit a bad letter when typing and it auto corrects me after that... happens all the time. I'll work on it. I'm just habitually typing a wrong letter.

A torn ACL takes a long time to fully recover. No doubt he probably could have played at the end of last season, but the coaches opted to have him 100% for this year.

Getting some little knocks is expected from any/all players.

I can hope your right and we'll see. he's not at potential at any rate. TBH, from what I hear, Barnett is very talented and Hendrix has been mentioned too so if coaches can learn how to rotate them out right and get them in a rhythm. It should be a good combo I would think.

Well, according to some on here, it has always been Worley and we are quite foolish to think otherwise. Whoever plays is fine with me. I think, from what I have seen this year and in the past, that Worley just doesn't have the arm strength. I said in another thread that even with Bray's attitude, which probably should have earned him some bench time, Worley could never show enough to get the job done. It seems to be the pattern now as well.

Whatever happens, way to be Zas. If I was computer savvy I would link to "Return of the Mack"

So zas isnt creditable in posting this? Please share your inside information without using the 2 minute practice clips as your reference.

Most is based off common sense. He's in yr 2 of a system, he played better last year before getting hurt, he has more weapons around him, he's had multiple people discuss the zip on his ball and confidence, and he's about to be named starting qb.

I have my opinion and others can have theirs. I usually stick with mine and base it off common sense and discussion with others.

In excited about the "packages" involving Pig and Devrin Young. Surprise plays with speedsters like them can change the course of a game really quick, especially in Neyland.

It's Very likely. Keep in mind he's been injured since his senior year of high school. If he doesn't get injured in high school, he would've been one of the top backs in his class. Also, I don't think Hurd will be cutting into his carries too much. There's a reason he's been number 1 on the depth chart since neal left. If he can stay healthy he'll have a great season.

Where have you read/heard that Lane is nicked up?

he has a history of getting injured and was on the sideline this morning instead of doing drills.

I like Lane and have always thought he was better than Neal. He just has had some injury issues that have set him back. Knee surgery, then foot, ankle and shoulder issues.
