Needs to stay another year. Along with Antonio "False start" Richardson. And thanks seniors.

And to Add the hatred on Pig, is ridiculous. The Block in the back is WHY Dobbs was able to score. Without that he's tackled for a loss.

Last night was not a good night for Pig. He dropped the crucial 3rd down pass as well. If we are going to throw quick passes 1 yard past the line of scrimmage, we HAVE to break tackles. I didn't see anyone doing that last night.

Neither will stay...

Tiny has snaps to jump...

AJ's got balls to spin...*

*in all seriousness! AJ has been one of the few bright spots on our Defense the last 3 years. But, I'll say again...AJ would NOT start for 6-7 other SEC defenses. He's just kinda the best we've got.

No need to hate on Howard. I think he has some natural talents that have yet to be adequately coached...

I wouldn't say that man he's talented. Had he went to another SEC school probably would have been better cause he wouldn't have had 3 different DC's and LB coaches

Pig didn't have to block him in the back for Dobbs to score . If he would have pulled up just short of hitting him in the back the defender still would of had to go through him to get to Dobbs . Dobbs still gets the corner and scores without pig hitting him.

Interesting. You've been banging on Jones relentlessly since last night, but suddenly it's a talent issue now. BTW, you got it right this time. It IS largely a talent issue. Richardson and North are the only players on our entire roster that would get significant playing time if they were on any team in the top half of the SEC.

Some really stupid comments in here. UT has several NFL talents on the team, so to say that only two players would start on top level teams is laughable. We have four NFL level OL, McCullers would start for anyone, and AJ would be a factor at any program in the SEC or country for that matter. UT does not lack talented players, they lack in talented depth. UT has individuals that can play with anybody at anytime. 7 or 8 talented individuals cannot make up for overall team talent.

In response to the thread topic, I really hope AJ does stay. Hopefully the prospects of a mid level draft status keeps him here.

Butch has showed me nothing.

And EVERY NFL team needs guys to practice against/with. Why do you think Bray sends signals in for the Chiefs?

AJ Johnson would NOT start @ Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Georgia and maybe not even USCe or Mizzou. Deal with it.

AJ needs to work on his game instead of running around strutting like a rooster and spinning the ball hoping everyone will look at him. Note to AJ Slow, you're not in the NFL nor will you every be. Practice squad at best but I doubt that.

How many years of NCAA ball did you play again?

Yeah....this guy is all over the place in the blame game. Anything and everything he has an answer for who's fault it is.

But lack of talent is no excuse!

What am I dealing with, your inability to judge and evaluate talent. And before you start in on my ability to do the same, I have coached and/or trained two current NFL players and several other D1 athletes. Short of knowing his forty time, AJ has displayed several key skills needed to make it at the next level. No way in hell that all of the teams you mentioned have enough LB talent to keep that guy off the field. Honestly, he probably would have redshirted and be forced to wait in the wings at other schools, but his talent is good enough to be a factor at every school in the league.

I try to stay away from these kind of threads but I can't.

AJ has always been a good kid who plays with a lot of passion and emotion. I enjoyed watching him play HS ball. I am saddened that some people on here are taking shots at him out of frustration.

AJ is giving everything he has and then some. He would start for a lot of SEC teams but his supporting cast would make him a 1st team All-American. His problem if there is one is that he tries to do too much when making up for the inefficiencies of his supporting cast.

And I'm George Clooney's Doppelgänger...taught Peyton how to grip the ball...and introduced Tom to Gisele...

And the internet goes round and round...

Meanwhile...AJ would NOT start at my listed Programs...

You still dealin'?

I swear...I honestly like other teams fans better than 75% of the UT fans on this site.

I understand being upset, but you guys bashing a kid who's been one of the best Defensive players the team has had the past few years is ridiculous....

*Patiently awaits the "You're a (insert SEC team here) troll!!!!!!!!" or "NEGAVOL! U gunna get Butch Slapped"*

Whatever. Idiots like you will always be idiots. I see that you are clearly intimidated by the tiny credentials that I have. I'm not claiming to have done grand and impossible things. I'm just letting you know that I know talent when I see and just how I know it. I'm lucky to have been able to coach and work with a pretty damn good crop of athletes during my time coaching and training. I see that's too much for you to handle so you start in with the smart A@# sh%*. Again, learn to know what it is your watching every Saturday ten you can talk.

AJ plays anywhere in the country outside of maybe Bama and LSU.

He probably comes off the field for most 3rd downs, but he still plays VN is too hard on him. Kid is playing 80 snaps a game and doing his best for UT. If he was in a fair situation with some better depth he could shine.
