A little concerned we might get "Slived"

I thought the refs called a great game. They allowed each team to be physical, were consistent with their calling, and botched very few calls.

As it worked out they weren't too awfully bad, but there were times when they looked as if they might get a little too one sided in Florida's favor. That's when I started this thread.

Given the bias shown to Slive's favorites in the past, (FL & KY in basketball, FL & AL in football), there is always a reason for some concern when you play those teams.

I was at the game, in the first half the refs seemed to job us on a couple of calls in my personal opinion. The second half the refs did a great job. I am so happy we won! Go Vols!

Or perhaps it's your grammar that needs work, along with your reading comprehension. If you are going to start attacking someone personally, like you did in this thread, the least you can do is get the facts right about what they posted and use proper grammar.

It sucks when you try to play the grammar card and that happens.

Thought the same thing. Should have said 'he or she.'

I don't know if it's good or bad that I notice that stuff. I usually let it go but once a person plays the "grammar card" I feel like he has basically given us all permission to grade his work too.

No I do the same thing. I absolutely hate that I do it, but at the same time, using correct grammar makes you look and sound more intelligent. I'm not saying that those who don't are unintelligent, but I personally prefer to make sure my posts are grammatically sound.

And yes, when you call out someone else's grammar, yours had better be perfect. With you there.

To be fair, the English language has some of the dumbest grammar rules/spellings/pronunciations you will ever find. Most non-native speakers agree that it is the hardest language to learn in terms of syntax and grammar. (Mandarin probably is still hardest overall though, because of tonal changes and the sheer number of symbols, but eh.)

Mandarin SUCKS to try to learn. I took it for four semesters and I still barely feel like I know anything.

Honestly, I think they just have trouble calling a game with Stokes playing. He's so big and strong, which makes him almost unmoved by contact while exaggerating even touchy aggression. Other than his piddly fouls, i thought the officiating was okay.

I had spanish in high school for 3 years, got to college and said "I wanna learn Mandarin." After one semester I took the online Spanish test and got placed in the 300 class and decided I would forget my dream of trying to speak any Asian language.

But I can still count to ten and say good morning.
