A look ahead to the season...

Diamond 17ppg
Jaime 16ppg
Cedes 15ppg
Cheridene 10ppg
Evina 8ppg
Annie 6ppg
Meme 5ppg
Rennia 5ppg
Kasi 3ppg
Kortney 2ppg
Harris 2ppg

That is what it would need to look like in order to average 89ppg if we contend for top scoring team in the nation.

I say Diamond, Jaime and Cedes all average between 12-16ppg. I thinkthe big three give up some of their scoring average because of Cheridene's and the froshie's presence... So I think it would be an optimistic outlook for our offense to average close to 75ppg...

Diamond 16ppg
Jaime 13ppg
Cedes 12ppg
Cheridene 8.5ppg
Evina 7ppg
Annie 5ppg
Rennia 5ppg
Meme 3ppg
Kasi 3ppg
Kortney 2ppg
Kamera 2ppg

Give or take a few from each and this would be close to the SEC leading ppg of SC's from last season.

Rennia, Kasi, Kortney and Cheridene would be ones that I think could end up having a bigger role in offensive production than what I listed as well as the big three capable of putting up monster numbers.

These are very good breakdowns ! Nice! I hope it's between the two! I'll take diamonds scoring average if her steals increase and her turnovers decrease! Nicely done!

I am solely referring to physical progress. She is still noticeably favoring her repaired knee.

Holly herself has said Cheridene is coming along slower because she had didn't not have access to the prep before surgery which is crucial and I know first hand because of watching family members rehab. Good thing is it's June (at the beginning) and if she can be in better overall shape physical/health wise by September/October that gives her another 3-4 mos to get better! She could be ready by Thanksgiving which would give her 4/5 months and be ready for some games before conference play :)

I've been looking and haven't seen anything yet. Does anyone know the numbers our new Lady Vols will wear this year?

The key to a low loss count will be shooting a higher percentage as a team than the 43 percent we shot last season and committing less turnovers than the opponent. I think if the shooting percentage is up to 46 or 47 we'll have less than five losses. We lost to teams like Penn State, Bama, Ole Miss, etc. because of terrible shooting and excessive turnovers.
When we could change that Miss St., SC, etc we can beat anybody. A consistent shooting team that does not turn the ball over is a winning team.

for a decade, if not longer. Shooting 47 percent would be a massive improvement for this team. We really need to take and make more three-point shots--a fact that has escaped our coach or our coaching, or both. Most of the good teams are making 6 or more threes a game.

Rennia is really the only recruit with a quality outside shot coming in. Jaime has improved with her consistency big time so if she continues to make strides she needs to take and make them with purpose. I feel like most of our threes come after the offense breaks down and the three is all they have left to offer. More threes in the flow of the offense is key, which I know you agree with.

Rennia has a chance to end up making the biggest impact because of her shooting. Her mechanics on her shot are fluid and there are no hitches. That goes a long way for a confident shooter. She shot over 40% from three in high school and she can hit from deep. She is lethal at the high school level from the mid range as well... I really hope she makes the transition to college ball faster than most freshman.

I thought this might be interesting to VN. I went to high-school with Miss Nared's father. He then played college ball at Maryland and roomed with Len Bias. He then began working for Nike as the personal representative to Tiger Woods.

Cool! And doesn't he work for the Dallas Mavericks now? I have seen him at LV games and he looks very fit and looks like a teenager - he has aged very well...and Jaime looks just like him! ☺️

I lost track after he left Nike. He started his own company and his first client was, I believe, Michelle Wie.

I played basketball with her grandfather. I always wanted to be picked by him when we played. I would always be the last one picked, but he always made sure he picked me. He always joked "Ed, I am sure you will still be available in the third round".

If she is all that you say she is that is great. I just hope her skills are used in the same manner with her new team. Sometimes it seems like the 3 pointers last year were taken out of desperation in the final quarter or unnaturally within the flow of the game. A 3 should be just as much of an option as a lay up... IF it is the RIGHT shot.

With a player like Russell in the paint, there should be plenty of space to get a 3 off. The look will be so different next year. They have a new offense they are installing and they return their top 3 scorers so really if Davis can mesh she doesn't have to do much but understand spacing and movement and take the shots her staff is asking her to take.

Assuming that she is healthy, I would like to see Dunbar in the game early to work on the three in a non desperate situation.

Who is coaching this new offense?

without starting anything the focus some years is offense to start the year but more frequently it is defense - especially with the number of freshmen. I remember when Pat took trips to observe different offenses including the NBA Chicago team. A new offense means what - more movement such as Miss State. more formal screens to run set plays, we'll see

Would like to see more screens to run set plays. Takes good passing skills and mental discipline; here's hoping these girls have both in spades!

If we can't get to that level then look for more of the same inconsistent play and several losses that should be wins. This IMO is where Holly fails the most the development of players. Reynolds was better as a freshman and sophomore than she was as a senior. Some of the players have improved but I think it is on their on work ethic and not any kind of help or push from the coaching staff. You should improve as a shooter every year not happening at Tennessee.

If a player improves its the players work ethnic not coaching, but if a player doesn't improve its the coaching not the players work ethnic thats the problem?

+1 million and one.
Davis is the real deal minus the recognition of media rating. Should have been top five.
This is Vickie B.
This is Jannah T.
And we never got a chance to see these players full glory.
We will in Rennia.
Should be starting at the four.
Cedes, Diamond, Jam, Rennia, and Westbrook. All the way.

At SEC tourney before SC my husband sit next to a man who was friends with Jamie's dad. He said he worked for Dallas, don't know if anything has changed since then.

Is the guy in the pic Coach Reaves son? He is supposed to be 6'6" or so and a player!

Yes that's her son! And If KK is 6'4" then he is a legit 6'8"! If he has some skills coach Barnes should be contacting him.
