"A lot of these hires happen in the month in December..."

"I have a level of information that no one else has." Last thing he said.
He knows who is interested.

This one quote from Hart's press conference tells us that he has already had some things in place. I am excited for Tennessee to get a guy who will bring Tennessee back. Tennessee should be a Top 25 team that averages at least 8 wins. That is what I look forward to seeing again. Another beating up on Vanderbilt and never having to see that again!

I guess it's just damn near impossible for me to get a read on how realistic a Gruden hire is

My fear is that folks may have been manipulated into building up the Gruden hype. It works well for Gruden and his agent if they put out some rumors to create the illusion of his interest. If 2 universities and 3 pro teams are interested, his stock goes up.

Please don't misunderstand me, I'll wet my pants if we get him. However, stuff like this goes on. I just hope there is a real chance he comes.

All I can say is we'll probably know before Christmas. I know some respected folks on here and other forums have said it is a done-deal. However, I can't believe it till I see it (like ghosts and aliens).

I would be pretty disappointed if we hired an assistant from somewhere, even if it was a proven one. If Tennessee isn't on a high enough level to hire a fairly proven head coach, or if that's not seen as at least a lateral move or step up for a prospective coach, then this program is in much worse shape / lower on the totem pole than I EVER imagined.
