Kids learned to commit to a school, not a coach. I realize that relationships are there, but if kids would have committed to play for Tennessee, not X, or O, or G, or EG, or whoever, then we wouldn't be in this situation of trying to convince these former commits to commit again.
I'm sorry, but Tennessee is going to be Tennessee, no matter who the coach is. A new coach won't erase our past history, our national championships, our quality of academics, our facilities, our traditions, our 107,000 fans on gamedays, or anything else about us. Tennessee is going to be just fine, no matter who the coach is. I truly believe that. We demand excellence, and we get it here.
So if you're a future or current recruit, save us the heartache. Come to UT because you want to be a Volunteer, not because you want to play for Dooley, or Chaney, or Thompson, or anyone else.
Thank you all, and have a nice day.
Oh yeah....V,B!
