A&M officially a member of the SEC

I really don't see why everyone is so confident. What if we do end up getting a team from out west and Auburn comes over to the East?

I think only two teams would have a problem with that.

UT and Bama both will fight their tails off to keep that game alive no matter what it takes.

think people either set of bama fans or UT fans would be willing to change divisions to make it happen?

keeping the rivalry that is

I'd want that, but I'm not sure the option would come up.

Suppose we get another team from the West and the plan is to move Auburn over. Who complains except Tennessee and Alabama?

Mizzou already said they are staying put. It'll have to be WVU or VT or some other team.

If we had to add more I could see VT or FSU but I would have a MAJOR problem with WVU or Missouri, if for no other reason than geography - I don't consider either of them to be "Southeastern". That's not even to consider their shortcomings as football teams :)

Well, this sucks. Guess we'll see what happens if we don't get #14 for 2012 and we have to go to an ugly-looking temporary 8-game conference schedule.

they already said they've planned it out and worked out all the related mechanics

Geographically, neither school is as big of a stretch as A&M. At least the US government counts Weat Virginia as southeastern. I don't want that garbage school anywhere near the SEC though.

not exactly, they never really actually did. Someone started a thread based off a misunderstanding from a report.

The OU president had come out saying that all the big 12 had accepted the new terms/ideas and that missouri was on board with preserving the big 12.

The Mizzou president then came out and said noone had accepted anything yet...and then he and the AD refused (about 2-3 times) to comment about the school being committed to the Big 12 for a long term

The closest to anything along the lines of "Missouri is staying in the big 12" was this statement from the interim Big 12 commish:

"My belief is that Missouri would like to stay in the Big 12 but I also know that this is a question that they must work through with their board of curators," interim Big 12 Commissioner Chuck Neinas told CBSSports.com on Friday. "They may have a different idea." (...he then went on to say something along the lines that the big 12 could still last/be viable without Mizzou)

Our schedule is set in stone for next year, doubt we are playing them. Much rather play NC State in Atlanta so we can end our ACC losing streak, Ga. Dome losing streak and have a convincing win that gets us ready to play UF and end that streak in Knoxville.

A&M is the last of my concerns right now. Winning in College Station is a very hard task and I know OSU won yesterday.

They have to add another team, will be interesting to see who it is. I hope it's someone the caliber of WVU or NCSU. It would be nice to keep the Bama series alive and not have to play AU on top of it every year.

The conference schedule for 2012 and beyond is anything but set in stone right now. Adding A&M reshuffles everything.
