LOL hat...I live here. I know you don;t care for it much, but it could be worse. I could live in say, Birmingham or Memphis.
I give Nashville a hard time, but some of my best friends live there. It's not the worst city I've been to in my life. Close, but not the worst.

Apparently so. I don;t go to the mall at all there anymore.

I only frequent Best Buy, which just moved in where Toys 'R Us used to be.

I saw "Star Wars" at Hickory Hollow mall when I was a kid. Actually, it was outside of the mall, right beside Bell Rd.
I saw "Flash Gordon" inside the mall.

When I was a kid, we used to go to the arcade in Hickory Hollow mall, and eat those ice cream cones on a stick with chochalate and nuts.

I remember it like it was yesterday. "Put another dime in the Jukebox, baby!!" was the "song" for that place.

They even had a Cain-Sloan and Castner-Knott back in those days.

Thanks for knocking where 95% of my relatives live :eek:lol: Dad's side in B'ham and Mom's side in Memphis. I'll let the dog out and you can kick him as you ride by.

Actually I agree on Memphis but B'ham is turning around. Yeah it's in bama but I have tix and a place to stay for the UT games there.

Oh man after that I went to my closet and got my 98 NC flag and hung it back out on my porch. Bring them Cal boys on.

I like it here. Of course, I come from Lebanon, and have lived in Middle Tennessee all of my life. It could be worse.

Freak, you need to pin this, man.

Oh yeah, as for Memphis...bleh. I could think of about a hundred different places I'd rather live.

I'm from Memphis (NW Mississippi, DeSoto County) originally....have no desire to go back....though since i've moved and been back over the last 12 years or so, downtown has gotten nicer with Peabody Place and the baseball park near Beale.

but could never live there again....have no problems with Nashville, been there several times and have always had a good time.

hate Birmingham...never had a good time there. Of course i've never really tried either...oh well...maybe a bit harsh on bham.

Downtown Memphis has improved, I will be the first to admit that. But all you have to do is wonder off into one dark corner, and run into someone doing their best Three Six Mafia impression.

Seriously, it has improved...I still wouldn't want to live there.

Nasvhille, as it gets bigger, is actually gettting much worse with crime.

So going to the Memphis game is probably a mistake ?
no...not at all...though the Liberty bowl isn't in the greatest part of town, it's not the worst, at least that's what my memory tells me....haven't been to the LB in 10 years.

oh, well, there's still plenty of good stuff about Memphis...as long as your visiting anyway...

if you like bbq, go to the Rendeavouz on 3rd st, it's in an ally, and you'll think it's pretty sketchy, but it's very, very good....get a cheese plate and a couple of racks of ribs....good stuff.

and if you like the blues, you can't go wrong with Beale st...but don't be suprised at how little there really is on Beale...it's not like Bourbon St in NOL....but still good nonetheless...the Rum Boogie Cafe is cool, as is BB Kings...Silky O'Sullivans is fun too....

The pinch district is pretty cool if you like good pubs....the High Point Pinch is a great little bar, at least it was...

yeah, don't get me wrong, you can still have a great time in Memphis, and i love going back, but i just love the fact that i don't have to stay anymore better....:dance2:

yeah...i agree...you almost need a guide from a native.
Memphis is probably the most fun night out in Tennessee. There is always something fun going on. I would not want to live there but it is a blast to visit. Throw in Tunica and you have a great weekend.

Oh, I agree that Memphis is a fun place to visit. Hitting the downtown area the Friday night before a game is always fun.

This year should be especially interesting, because UT-Memphis and UGA-Ole Miss is on the same weekend.
