Currently six of the top ten posts on this subforum are about the last coaching staff.

Apparently UT basketball fans don't have much to look forward to anymore.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Whether you liked him or didn't Pearl was going to be a tough act to follow up in Knoxville. No offense to Cuonzo Martin, he may do well but he's in a tough spot.

I think you will see that for a while. Especially cause its the off season. Personally I think Cuonzo will do a great job but as a UT basket all fan we just went on one heck of a ride. Kinda tough to move on just reading articles about the new team.

Most of the threads are due to the NCAA investigation. When basketball season starts, I'm sure you'll see more Martin threads and less and less of Pearl's.

Thats a good thing.Maybe they will sneak up on a few teams like Pearls first team at Tennessee did.I know for a fact Coach Martin has more to work with this year than Pearl did in his first season.

I think everyone is just VERY excited about football for the time being. When December rolls around I know my enthusiasm will be present on the basketball forum.

As long as we are consistently 10+ wins in football, we could do away with basketball imo

No way. I think Pearls first year team would eat this years team IMO. They have the potential but it's almost impossible to see how these guys buy into his system. I've been waiting for Cam Tatum to explode since he's set foot on campus and haven't seen it yet. Hall and McRae hav the potential to really turn a lot of heads this year.

Pearl is doing everything possible to keep his name in the news. He is such an attention whore.

Please tell me I missed the sarcasm button on this one. There is no way this year's team is as good as what Pearl inherited. C.J. Watson, Chris Loften, and JaJuan Smith were players Pearl inherited. Who has he left for Martin? Our two best players left. No one on this year's team has proven a thing. If you're not joking, you're insane.

Pearl would have had a rough time of it himself this year. With Hopson and Harris leaving, this team is going to struggle no matter who the coach is. Martin is in a tough spot for sure, but maybe he can make a team out of this mess.

He didn't say this team would beat Pearl's first team. He said Martin has more to work with than Pearl did when he arrived. I agree 100%.

He supposedly just got a new job in Knoxville. Pearl's going to continue to be a distraction for a while.
