I guess Yeley had his shot, time to move on, can't blame Gibbs though he is getting a huge upgrade with that 18 car in Busch. A trio of Stewart, Hamlin and Busch is quite a formidable trio.

Yeley's never impressed me, not even in Busch cars. He probably never deserved that ride in the first place. I admire the fact that Joe give him 2 years. Most owners would have dumped him after 15 races. He just isn't anywhere close to where his equipment is.

Yeley is a former USAC champ. much like Gordon and Stewart. good driver. not really sure what happened with him.

He may have been a great driver, but that's not translated into success into a Nascar team. I've just never been impressed with him in the Busch or Cup. .

does Jr. really have any say on what number he drives?

I suppose he can choose/pick one from what's available, but if he wants the 8 he can't just say "I want that one, give it up, Tere$a" If TEI wants to continue using it on a car, they can, no matter what Jr. wants.
