A silver statistical lining for Josh Dobbs

As promising as Dobbs is, I still would like to get a good look at Ferguson as QB before I make any sound judgements. CBJ held his redshirt intact for a reason.

So that's why Riley traveled with the team to Oregon and Florida while Dobbs didn't?

Is his hand big enough for the football, looks like his hands are small, may be why the ball comes out like a wounded duck.

What kind of speed does Ferguson have, that's what I got against the spread, if in 93 we ran it Peyton would never been a VOL in 94.:cray:

Dobbs did relatively well considering. I don't think he's the clear cut starter going into next season let alone the spring game

Yes, but if you project his passing stats out what does he end up with? Like 1200 yards and 4 td passes?

That's kind of (I'll be kind) short-sighted. Did you actually watch the Vandy game? Aside from the one long pass that he put right into Smith's two hands, the coaches were not letting him throw down the field. Big difference one game later.

I believe the coaches will test them all out and will make their decisions based on more information than we have now or ever WILL have.

I am excited . There will actually be competition for the starting QB this year . The only one we have not seen is Ferguson . I give Peterman the BOD on his floriduh start .

As to the insider remark . Yes , that is why I joined Vol Nation was for the good inside reports from all the insiders . What I got was the Gruden Fiasco . LMAO at me . Now I just come to read the silly posts . Posts just like this one .

Dobbs had a thumb injury along with a gimpy leg in the KY game and still played pretty well. He will be better next year if he can beat out Ferguson and Worley.

LOL. Dobbs ran the scout team for those games to simulate the opposing team's offense. Riley was third string and worked on the UT game plan. They took the guy that had ran through the game plan. The plan was always to redshirt both of them.

Wasting your time DC.Too much common sense in your post.lol

Still he is no Nick Marshall. He can't get away with using only his legs. The passing must improve or he gets passed up by Ferguson, which is likely in the spring. Remember Ferg was higher on the depth chart before injury.

Reckon Fergy can pick up yds on his feet like Dobbs? If so, can Fergy Pass for more yds in 4 games that equates Dobbs total(running and passing)????
High Schoolf film is great and all, but?:)

Who is another Nick Marshall? Unfair comparison. Also where was it ever said Ferguson was ahead of Dobbs on the depth chart?

It never was stated. Quite the opposite - coaches were
careful to make no distinctions publicly. Certain segments of the media just hyped Fergy and wanted him to start as did certain segments of the fanbase.

I saw a change in Dobbs during the Kentucky game. He took command and made some pretty good throws. Some were bad yes but some were on target with touch. His arm strength appears good as long as he is confident. His legs are underrated. The kid can run. I think next year Dobbs will be much better with Worley and Furgeson on his heels. Optimistic.

he did look better against Ky but you got to remember it is Ky,there lack of speed against the Vols was bad,as was the Vols against a lot of teams this year
