A Stab at the Week 5 Top 25

I am absolutely 50/50 on Saturday's game. I literally have no guess at who wins. Stanford can exploit some of our weaknesses, and Stanford has weaknesses that can be exploited. I ranked them higher solely based on what I perceive to be a stronger resume.

I really think that the ASU game was a freak. I had a bad feeling about it going in. Combine 101 degree temperatures. Horrible officiating. A good ASU ball club. And just maybe Oregon looking forward to Stanford. That is the kind of outcome you get and still... Oregon came out with a double digit win.

Oregon has always played absolutely great at home in GameDay big games. Even the Cal loss was a good game that came down to more or less the direction of a ball's bounce.

I'll be there for it and I think Oregon wins. Very close game though. I'm gonna say 35-31 Oregon.

I agree. My god though, Harbaugh, Luck, and that O-Line scare me.

I watched a replay of the Stanford/Notre Dame game and the O-Line was the most impressive thing. I just kept thinking "Damn.... they are big, fast and strong." And Luck just kept throwing strikes all over the field... Going to be a big test for this Secondary.

I can't wait to be back in Autzen though. The only game I've been to this year was Portland State and that was a snoozer.

Autzen is gonna be rocking at full blast this Saturday! :clapping:

4. Stanford
5. Oregon
6. TCU
7. Nebraska
8. Arkansas
9. Oklahoma
10. Florida
11. Auburn
12. Wiconsin
13. Miami
14. Utah
15. Arizona
16. LSU
17. Iowa
18. South Carolina
19. Nevada
20. Iowa
21. Michigan
22. Texas
23. North Carolina St
24. Penn State
25. Missouri

Feel free to bash me. I'm bored, so I figured, why not?

Stanford, TCU, and BSU, above Auburn and Florida? And Arkansas moves up after a loss?

Blowing out Kentucky at home is not even remotely impressive. Florida let a pretty bad Tennessee team hang with them for the majority of the game, and the Miami (OH) and South Florida debacles were just bad.

Florida is undoubtedly a talented team, but there are a few weaknesses in the team. Saturday will obviously be a huge measuring stick for the Gators.

Oregon gave up 24 points and 350+ yards of offense in the first half against Arizona State, and your criticizing Florida for blowing out Kentucky, a 3-1 team(consistently been better than ASU)?

Furthermore, USF has been consistently better than every team Oregon has played thus far, including Tennessee. By the way, Oregon and Florida scored the same amount of offensive TD's against Tennessee, yet somehow, Oregon still managed to give up more yards.

Kentucky? Consistently better than ASU? That's not true, and you obviously didn't watch a smidge of the game. ASU is a talented, physical team with the "best defense that I've ever faced", in LaMichael James' words. Big, physical wide receivers with a pretty solid QB throwing the ball to them. Don't sleep on the Sun Devils, they'll probably be a mid-tier Pac-10 team this year.

Playing in 105 degree weather didn't help us.

Really, it's not true?

2009

ASU: 4-8
Kentucky: 7-6

2008

ASU: 5-7
Kentucky: 7-6 and a bowl win.

2007

ASU: 10-3
Kentucky: 8-5 and a bowl win

2006

ASU: 7-6
Kentucky: 8-5 and a bowl win

Would you like to rephrase that statement?

I watched the entire game. ASU is a ****ty team who's only two wins this season were over FCS programs. And if LaMichael James thinks a defense that gave up 42 points in 3 quarters is the best defense he's ever faced, than he's either drunk, or never been pitted against a great defense. My guess is it's the latter. The last semi decent defense the Ducks played against handed them a loss in the Rose Bowl, finally giving Ohio State that "big game win" they hadn't been able to grasp in 3 over seasons.

And I'll counter with the argument that you're a ****ing idiot if you think ASU is a ****ty team. Seriously, educate yourself before you claim to be an Oregon fan.

How else would you interpret two consecutive seasons below .500? Because I'm most everyones world other than your own, that's pretty ****ty.

And do you concede to the fact that Kentucky has fielded a superior football product in comparison to ASU?

Bro, I know more about football than you, and it's obvious. :ermm:

Obvious in what way? Stanford was pretty damn awful for around 7 or 8 years before 2009. Seems as if they're putting a pretty decent product on the field right now.

ASU, historically, is a better program than Kentucky. It doesn't even have any relevance to their team this year, anyway.

Because you've proven a few times, that outside of Oregon football, you don't know much.

And Stanford will be decent for a season, win 8 or 9 games, Andrew Luck will get drafted, and they'll drift back into mediocrity.

ASU has been consistently worse than Kentucky over the last 4 or so seasons. No credible arguments for their superiority exist.

Dear god, you obviously have not watched both teams play this season.

You think Kentucky would've gone to Camp Randall and lost on the merit of a missed XP?

Dude, shut the hell up. Your whole, "omg, you haven't watched them play!!!" act is really played out and pathetic.

And yet again you display your lack of understanding pertaining to everything football. When has ABC logic ever applied to not only football, but pretty much any sport?

Alabama had to block two field goals to beat Tennessee last season, one in the closing seconds of the game. Obviously, they were the second best team in the nation.

ASU has a fast and physical defense with a group of big wide receivers, who dominated our smaller DBs. Threet is no slouch. Explain to me how they aren't a good team.

You are a certifiable ****ing idiot if you think that two seasons ago has ANY bearing on 2010.

Their only 2 FBS games were played against two top 15 teams. They played very well against both teams. Any questions?

Reading comprehension son. The prior two seasons. Meaning both 08 and 09. Two seasons in a row they've failed to reach .500. They've done nothing this season to indicate they'll be any better.

Prior successes and failures are always used to gauge the talent levels of a team. Hence the reason for pre season rankings. Clearly, there's a ton of "certifiable ****ing idiots" out there.

Nope, I don't have any questions. I know ASU sucks.

P.S. Someone using losses to prove a team is good is comical. Hilarity of the highest forms.

So, if Florida lost to Alabama next week on an incorrect call, would it be "hilarity of the highest forms" to use that game to prove that Florida is good?

Are we here to talk hypotheticals or reality?

My point proven.

I could also claim that if Florida lost by 1 to Alabama on an XP that it wouldn't count towards them being a good team, if I used your logic.
