Thanks... but so is Charlie Strong and his recruiting is full blast... I am not convinced that we are not just buying into the hype

I want CBJ to do well but this year’s class will not do it, we MUST recruit with the BIG BOYS if we are to play with them

Um. No offense Coasty, but Louisville was ranked 46 this year. With only two 4 stars.

Recruiting was done on top of a fence post this year, and Bell was the post. If the 17 year old boy had chosen UT, we would have finished about 15th, and if he had committed earlier in the process, it likely would have swayed others to follow, putting us in the top 10. Instead, due to an incompetent Dooley, we didn't get an early commit, and couldn't close in the end.

In most fans eyes, considering Bell was a home boy, this wasn't a successful recruiting class. Top that with the infamous, and hated, Urban Meyer being the thief, and.......

The man is working hard. If he don't succeed, it won't be due to lack of effort. I can appreciate that. :twocents:

I really hated we missed on both Green and Ford... and to misd out on several to Arburn who has a new coach, limited time etc. As us, well it just sucks

I will try to be more positive..... right now i am just positive we keep coming in second..lol

I hope he is correct, it CBJ wins seven in his first year, he will be succussful, if he wins ten as one post suggests .............he will be Saban ha ha :)

I'll tell you where I'm at. I am saddened to see the Vol football program plunge to such depths. Could you have imagined after the 1998 season that it would come to this? I had little confidence in Jones, now I have less, and I am getting to where I don't really care.

However, this has nothing to do with anyone in this thread. I'm just disgusted with the direction I see UT football taking and I am losing interest.

Besides, where else can you post at VN? Every post here seems to be either an argument, an attack or bold predictions on how great Jones will do at UT. I cannot find any civil discussion here. Say what you want, the Gruden threads were enjoyable. They were only threads I really have enjoyed at VN in years. So I guess since they are gone, I guess they took my interest in VN with them.

I'm glad I met all of you on here and probably would have enjoyed meeting you in person. I wish there was a way, but there is no PM here and it is unwise to post any contact info here.

So that's my story. I don't have enough care for UT football to argue over it now, and argument and/or insults seems to be the way things are done here and it's not for me.

I come to this thread because it is still the one place that can be kinda fun - it's scary how mean people get out there. I venture out then scamper right back here. I'm sad that you're so down...I absolutely loved the Gruden threads because they were fun and funny and made me laugh and made me crazy! I hope you don't disappear entirely...I've been a Volunteer for many many many years and this too, shall pass. These 18 - 21 year old kids need our support and I'll give it to them and continue to peek in here in case my old buds want to join me for a brewski! :toast: Don't stay away cause I'll miss ya!
