A Time for Choosing

I live in a blue state and IDs seem to be required to vote. I'm always asked for an ID.

I'm sorry you are troubled by the necessity of getting a fishing license. I just pulled this off the web:]

do you have different IDs so you can vote multiple times or do just show the same ID?

The FBI visited people who spoke at a school board meeting? I call more MAGA bull$hit on that. Most every place has a unisex bathroom these days--not an issue.
You really are clueless. These are just a couple of examples found doing a quick search. There are many more.

The chemicals that replaced lead in gas are 100x worse than lead.

You have a link to some study on this? I wouldn't be surprised if MTBE was not as safe as advertised but it would have to be pretty effin bad to be worse for you than lead. There's strong correlation that lead poisoning from leaded fuel lead to an increase in violence and a decrease in IQ over large populations.

That **** gets in your bones and doesn't leave.

I didn't read the whole exchange. Just that one post.

did you try my drink?

I wrote a post out and the drink took me before I finished it.

It was a little sweet for my boozy palate but it was still very interesting.

Remind me to hit you with a build I did the next day that balanced it out a bit. I'm kind of touch and go with the evening right now.

Did you look at what they were teaching? The curriculum at private schools is even worse than in public schools. It's riddled with critical race theory and black justice. You need to pay attention. The AP History and AP English courses are riddled with it. The white oppressors are attacked throughout all aspects of the curriculum. If you care, pay attention.

Just had a son go through both AP courses and this is just right-wing fear mongering...

MTBE is miscible with water so when you have an underground tank leak it can spread, end up in the surface waters, aquifers ext. It’s extremely difficult to remediate. Plus it’s toxic.

Lead will pretty much stay within the tank pit and is easy to clean up.

Doesn't lead end up in the air as car exhaust though?

Not that I know of.
Had to put the googler to work.

Yes, lead can get into the air from many sources, including industrial sources, motor vehicles, and natural sources:
Industrial sources
Lead can be released into the air directly as suspended particles from ore and metals processing, waste incinerators, utilities, and lead-acid battery manufacturers. Lead can also attach to airborne particles to form particulate matter.
Motor vehicles
Lead was emitted in large amounts from vehicles when leaded gasoline was used, and these particles were often deposited along roadways and bonded with soil particles. Although leaded fuel was phased out by 1996, lead that has settled in soils can still be re-suspended into the air by wind or human activity.
Natural sources
Lead can also be released into the air through natural sources such as soil erosion, volcanic eruptions, sea spray, and bushfires.

You lost, Earl, four years ago. 'Bout time you ladies dealt with it; instead, you've allowed yourselves to get played for years by a corrupt, dishonest fraud.

How about your freedom to have electricity generated from fossil fuels or nuclear power? The Biden Administration is pushing to force utilities to depend on renewable energy. The more we rely on renewable energy, the less energy we will have. Biden's push for total dependence on renewable enery will be disastrous.

"In those jurisdictions that have succeeded in getting generation from renewables up to as high as about 30% of their total electricity supply, the result has been an approximate tripling in the price of electricity for their consumers....

"The cost of such batteries sufficient to power a jurisdiction of millions of people is enormous, and quickly comes to be the dominant cost of the system. Relatively simple calculations of the cost of batteries sufficient to get through a year for a modern industrialized area show that this cost would imply an increase in the price of electricity by a factor of some 15 or 20, or perhaps even more.

The burden of such increasing prices for electricity would fall most heavily on poor and low-income people."

Last I checked, no country can be run based on the individual preferences of every person in the country. You are confusing preference with freedom--two different things. I think I read the other day that the U.S. was going to build nuke power plants---must check.

What is it that you want to do but can't because you need "permission." Are you upset because you have to get a fishing license?
Driver's license? What troubles you so?

Where is this "tyranny" that some of you comically seem concerned about? How has your freedom been constrained? Please explain.

Right-wingers like to blather regularly about "freedom" and "tyranny," but when asked to explain, they go fishing.....
Yo are so brainwashed it’s comical Jethro. I don’t care what you say the only reason for a fishing license is money. So I should have to have a license for simply pulling up to a river and putting a fishing pole in the water? Laughable.

There are states that require you to have a permit to collect rain water. You heard me Jethro. Rain water. If you own property that has a stream on it, you have to get permission to get water from it. Can I buy raw milk, cream or cheese anywhere? In some places but many places require special permits or is prohibited

Can I make a deposit into my personal checking or savings account for whatever amount I wish without permission? Not really. Over a certain amount and the big bad IRS has to know about it. These are just a few little tidbits Jethro.

Hopefully the fringe, radical Democrat voters have been beaten back so we CAN build Nookular (Homage to Jimmy Carter) power plants.

SIAP

"Some lawmakers are now accusing the Department of Justice of dragging its feet when it comes to handing over information related to the Federal Bureau of Investigation probes into parents who attended the heated pandemic-era school board meetings in 2021."

there are also videos of Wray being asked about it in Congress, and he admits to it trying to claim they are domestic terror suspects. when asked why, he had no explanation, no probably cause, no legal justification.

from your link:

"4. Legal Essentials

Beyond conservation, holding a valid fishing license helps you avoid penalties. Rules vary by state, but fines can be costly, and you might even lose your fishing gear.

It's better to be on the water with the peace of mind of knowing you're fishing legally."

you need a license to keep the government from punishing you if you don't have a license. That is pure extortion. as I said the rest of their reasoning is just BS that doesn't require a license. in Georgia its 15 bucks to get a fishing license. that's not funding crap.
