You impetuously and prematurely hitched your wagons to what you wanted and hoped to be true, not what was imminent.

It's not about what you expect. The question wasn't about the POTUS. Should the media remain unbiased? What responsibility do they have to the general public? Are they there to tell us the truth, or are they there to tell us how and what to think?

You didn't address my comment. I would expect more professional decorum from the POTUS than the average journalist. Maybe that's just me. How about you?

Now I will address your questions. Sure the NEWS media should remain unbiased, BUT I see absolutely nothing wrong with a news journalist showing sadness and anger after a mass shooting and showing compassion for the victims. Point being, some things are so obviously good or bad that neutrality would be disingenuous.
The NEWS media responsibility to the general public is to inform them of relevant facts and events.
Of course they are there to tell the truth which should guide how one thinks.

Fox is by far and away the worst at these thing in all of main stream media.

Trump has attacked the media much more than the media has attacked Trump. Especially when compared to previous presidents. But again, it was part of his strategy from the start.

There is some data to back up that opinion but I give people some degree of credit in their ability to determine fact/opinion balance.

The funny thing about data is how easily manipulated it is by someone trying to get you to agree with their opinion. I could find data to support the same claim about CNN. I prefer to use my own common sense about what I see. Both sides are guilty. I see no need to defend one side over the other. Ask yourself why you do.
