A UF Fan's Current Take On Recruiting

what's telling is who they have lost and who they have replaced them with. The guy from CMU is supposed to replace BG? hahahaha. I cant wait to see who replaces Strong? Willie Martinez? hahahahaha.

You realize that CMU runs the same offense as UF, right? Wait, I'm probably giving you too much credit there. The WR coach they hired knows the way to teach the type of routes that Meyer's offense runs. I think it was a good pick up seeing as how CMU runs the same offense and the coach already knows the routes, blocking schemes, etc. for the offense.

We'll see about UF without Tebag....the backup quarterback is ALWAYS "just as good and ready to go"...until he actually plays a meaningful snap.

...And I have a hard time believing UF would only have interest in "maybe just 1 of our recruits"....

I could not read the entire thing because I was laughing so hard after I read that UF would only want 1 of our current commitments.

Other than James, I'm not sure there's a kid you have committed that has a Florida offer. It's not that the kids are bad. We're just not interested. I'm sure there's a few kids committed to UF that Tennessee wouldn't be interested in. Different schemes.

Here's my take. UF would like to get...

Definites
Brandon Willis
Corey Miller
Michael Palardy
JaWuan James

Probablies
Markeith Ambles(UF may have cooled because of personality but no doubt you guys wanted his talent at one point)

Jacques Smith(no offer because you know he'd never come)

Ted Meline
Delvin Jones(can't deny either one of these guy's athletic abilities)

That's a heck of a lot more than 1.

Agree we probably would take the first four...Forgot about Palardy...

We would not take Ambles, Meline or Jones. No idea on Smith...maybe.

That said we never really recruited any of the top four players. I would say we recruited Ambles the hardest until Urban had a meeting with him at FNL and then we dropped him.

Sounds to me like some UF fans are getting a little worried about the changes coming their way sans Tebow, Strong, etc. They blew out Miami, FSU, and Georgia, so the expert gives those schools some credit for their recruiting classes...Our class is ranked higher than two out of the three, and we spanked the one team of those three higher than us in recruiting on the field, so, amazingly, he finds our class of no consequence...What fascinating analysis. And by fascinating I mean asinine.

a few things..

1) being able to predict how classes will turn out (apart from star ratings) is absolutely ludicrous for a fan to do. None of us have any clue. Jeff Luc could end up being a Chris Donald. who knows. One thing I do know is that I keep seeing Ole Miss players (ala, Ed Orgeron recruits) all over the NFL, see as many of them as I do Florida players. These guys have a past of having a knack for seeing real talent. Its worth trusting what players that may be recruiting.

2) Let these guys dog our recruiting efforts. We are in a much better situation than the joke that was Fulmer's recruiting, but we are not quite tearing it up yet. Kiffin and co are holding their own, but have yet to really 'bump' Georgia or really challenge Bama for some of these top recruits, and until Kiffin just tears it up, don't defend what he may or may not do. Right now, we are what we are. 7-5, with a top 10 recruiting class, not 12-0 with a #1 class.

....but I am pretty darn sure there will be more and more bad press coming out of there over the next two months to really make them think twice about the decision.
interesting[/QUOTE]

Does this sound like , just maybe, the NYT might have another story coming out.?? "Pretty darn sure" , huh?? What does your friend know of the guy who made the big ado about nothing much??

Has anyone else noticed that these Fla. fans always say...we didn`t want him...we had already stop recruiting him...he`s not good enough to play at Fla. every time these kids commit to some other school?

I was really hoping for something insightful from the Gator fan. Boy was I wrong. I would say that was borderline stupid for me to think that but there is a ban in place for name calling. So let's just say it wasn't one of the more intelligent thoughts I've had.

Looking for insight on Tennessee recruiting from a Florida fan? Isn't that kind of like asking a preschooler their thoughts on Astrophysics?

guess gators don't need any proof to start making accusations. Probably the same crap their coaches are saying

Yeah, ridiculous. The coaches seem anything but worried about ncaa sanctions. And they are not looking to leave, they are getting lured away with bigger offers.

the really sad part is that I got this from a guy that is honestly a great guy. i wish all uf fans were like him. he is a solid friend. Im curious, how many of you have a friend that's a fan of one of our rivals?

I have Many friends that are Chokies and even they would not make a ignorant statement like that....
