With this season in the books, and it being a cold wet Saturday, I would like to take a look at next years schedule.

Seven home and five away games. Bama, FL and Mizzou at home, GA, Miss, SC and Vandy away.

Utah St. - W
No nothing about this team

Ark St. _ W
Diddo.

@Oklahoma - L?
Good team in a bad conference. Will show as a loss
mainly cause its away.

@GA - L/W?
Lost Aaron Murray, but their backup looks pretty good.
Away worries me on this one.

FL - W?
Hard to believe FL won't improve over last year.
But their offense still has a long way to go. Home should be difference.

Chattanooga - W
Surely!

@Ole Miss -W/L?
Another team that has been up and down but is getting
better. On the road, just don't know?? Glad its not AUB!

Bammer - L
At home gives me hope and McCarron gone. But they are
still Bama and have the #1 class yet again.

@S. Carolina - W?
Away but no Shaw or Clowney, hopefully another win.

Kentucky - W
Enough said.

Mizzou - L?
Potential W being a home game, but if they are still
relatively intact from last year....

@Vandy - W
Please...Dear Lord in Heaven...Let us beat this team!!!

6-6 Conservatively to 9-3 hopefully!! Beating Vandy and FL gets us to 6 wins, which is certainly doable!

I Really don't see another losing season, unless things go terribly. Although it is still another very tough schedule. Only 4 cupcakes teams!

I think it will come down to how good GA, FL, SC and Ole Miss will, or won't be.

Utah State will not be a cupcake team

Why do we keep playing these tough away games early in the season?

Is everyone going to be ok with 5-7 with outside chance at 6-6 next season?

You might want to watch Utah State play tonight vs Fresno @ 10PM est on CBS. Mountain West conference championship game. Their QB has 18 TD versus 2 INT--Chuckie Keeton.

I would say any team playing in a conference championship game is not soft or a guaranteed win. That will be a very tough game for us.

What choice do you have?
6-6 and bowl game would be nice, 7-5 should get Butch SEC coach of the year.:good!:
GO VOLS!

Maybe not a "Cupcake" but it is the Mountain West conference, not exactly the SEC.

Of course I forgot to mention that OUR improvement next season is a HUGE part of it!

The trenches is where the biggest question marks are for us, with the loss of pretty much both lines????

They are a Mountain West team that only lost by 3 to USC. They have talent.

I doubt anyone is "ok" with it, but it's reality. Our goal needs to be a bowl game. For me anything after that is icing.

I'm guessing you are talking about the assumption there will be improvement?

WR corps will still be young. The RB's will be younger and less experienced and we don't know how soon the athletic talent will convert to performance. Still questions at TE. Still questions at QB.

New questions at kicker and punter.

Brand new front 4 on D. With most of the D front 7 two deep being new players.

The secondary "should" be improved.

There are so many unknowns right now that any prediction is nothing much more than a pure guess. The safe bet is 5-7 with 6-6 being possible with MUCH better coaching and development than we saw in '13.

We scare the crap out of OK. All teams have that one snake bit game where Murphy shows up and for us it will be the FL game.

Until we beat 1 of the Big 3, I have to pencil in Ga, Fla, Ala as losses.
Basically the 2014 season comes down to 3 games:
USCe, Ole Miss and Vandy. We can either go 3-0 vs them or 0-3.
If you want a preview of next year, all you need to do is pop the tape in of 2013. Very similar seasons.

Passing game will be better
Running game will be slightly worse
Team speed significantly better

Man I brought this up early in the year. The administration here is still in the 90's. They keep putting these pressure cooker schedules and expecting winning seasons. Loosing doesn't always make you better. It can kill your confidence if it happens too much.

With the schedules we have year in and out it's tough to win 6-6. We need to take a page out of USCjr and Vandy book and play a easier non-conference schedule because our conference schedule is tough enough. The administration will be why this program won't rise.

No such thing as an easy SEC Schedule when you have to replace the entire O-line and probably the entire defensive front seven. We'll have a struggle to win 6 next year. I hope I'm wrong, but we have some serious competition in our conference, and getting back to the top won't happen overnight.

GBO!
