A What If Season.......

What if we made a home run hire instead of hiring Lane Kiffin and the last five years were a build-up to the upcoming SECC game with Bama ranked #1 and UT ranked #2? Team leaders Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter, Da'Rick Rogers and CP are all projected as Top 5 draft picks with Bray, the most prolific passer in NCAA history, a lock for the Heisman.

If we're gonna what-if, let's do it big.

How much mileage doe Butch get off of one extremely lucky win? Bottom line is we sucked this year and got worse, not better, as the season went along. We couldn't even beat Vandy at home in a game in which we were favored!!! No lucky win over USCe can make up for that !!!

Spot on!!! This staff was terrible this season. I hope they learn from it and learn how to coach in the SEC.

How do we have Bray in this scenario, but no Kiffin?

What if Worley had not gotten hurt, and was still at the helm going into the Vandy game? Do we win?

What if he started at FL??

What if we don't have the interference call at the end of the GA game, or Pig doesn't fumble in OT?

What if Dobbs completes just 4 more passes against Vandy?

And what if CBJ and staff really did know what they were doing by going with Worley to start and Peterman as backup, with the intention of red shirting both Dobbs and Ferguson?

Just wondering..... what if?

Flame away in the great Volnation tradition! :)

It's hard to say they were terrible. A bad roster can make any staff look bad. Every team starts out saying 'if'. If we don't lose any major players, if we have time for certain players to develop, etc. Fact is, we had no room for margin. The roster was so depleted of quality players, everything would have had to go perfectly for the season to go well, and that almost never happens.

Looks to me that we were improving. After the Oregon blowout and the first half Florida fiasco, Worley stepped up and righted the ship. Florida second half, we were much better, USA--we were better still, Georgia--even better (nearly knocked off the then #6 team), USCe--even better. Then the broken hand.

Alabama would have blown us out no matter what. Auburn would have won, but not like they did. Missouri would probably have pulled out a much closer win over us. But Vandy, no way would they have won, and today's game--no question. All this would have put us at 6-6. I would say that was the best case scenario for this team.
