The only reason why they are still there is because we're pouring billions of dollars worth of equipment and technology into the IDF. That aid has in turn caused the Middle-East to hate us even more.

Is it only wrong if non-combatants are targeted and killed by suicide bombers?

Is it only wrong if terrorists are turned into heroes after killing non-combatants?

Yeah I fully believe that military aid we give to the Israelis every year is what keeps them going. If we shut down the aid and supply of equipment and spare parts things would get ugly pretty quick. The Israelis have a great domestic military capacity but I don't think they could supply the full needs of the IDF in the event of American aid leaving.

Israel might make it if we ceased giving aid to her enemies as well. $60B to Mubarek during his regime, from American taxpayers....

I do. Hard to fathom a young nation with no great revenue generating resource with such an advanced military if it was not indebted to external contributors.

Harvesting olives is not going to generate the revenue needed to equip a military with state of the art tanks and planes, something Israel has relied upon since the 1960s.

Even the ultra-rich, oil magnate states in Arabia (Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi) do not have the means to field such technologically advanced militaries. Iraq and Iran did simply due to the funding from the US and the USSR.

We don't have to use suicide bombers, we just use our standing military. Take for example this, during the 2006 Lebanon war, the Israeli Defense Forces killed an estimated 1,000+ Lebanese civilians with another with another 4,000+ wounded.

During Operation Cast Lead in 2008 the Palestinian Center for Human Rights estimated that 926 civilians were killed (IDF figure 295) and with 5,303 civilians wounded. With another 58,000 displaced and with 4,000 homes destroyed and damages in the $2 billion dollar range. How do you really think the Israelis can win the peace with this type of results?

Not to mention that the IDF also employs assassinations and forced demolitions of homes. These actions scream terrorism just as much as Muslims blowing themselves up. Israel has just as much, if not more, blood on there hands. Zionism is extremely dangerous.

So, because these Arabs were nomadic and were not organized into any unified government, the land they roamed was free for the taking? Why not just handout blankets infected with smallpox?
